Find Nevaldan Rehn (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  at -1240, 1290, -22  • Vah Camp) .

You say, 'Hail, Nevaldan Rehn'
Nevaldan Rehn tells you, 'Hail, <Player Name>. You've done very well so far. Has Lyjan explained what the next step is?'
You say, 'He has. Where can I find the last refugee?'
Nevaldan Rehn tells you, 'In the Plane of Torment, I fear.' Nevaldan shakes his head. 'And don't ask me why he's there--I have no idea why she does any of the things that she does. You can't simply sail in and start killing like you did for the others, either. You'll have to ask the traveller for details on how to free him.'
You say, 'Why do you trust this traveller person so much?'
Nevaldan Rehn tells you, 'Because I have no choice.' Nevaldan's ears lay flat back. He begins to speak under his breath. 'Like or not, we're here, and that wench is the only person with any idea what's going on. I know more than I say, true, but if you think my map's much clearer than yours is, you're mistaken. The blunt truth is that the vah are close to extinction and we need her help to get back on our feet.'
You say, 'What *do* you know that I don't?'
Nevaldan Rehn tells you, 'Little.' Nevaldan shrugs. 'I know who the traveller is.'
You say, 'Shaylan wouldn't tell me, but you know me better than she does. Don't I deserve to know?'
Nevaldan sighs. '...aye, you do. <Player Name>, the woman we know as the traveller is a direct manifestation of Jayla.'
You say, 'That... *huh*. That just raises *more* questions.'
Nevaldan's voice is bitter, seething with fury. 'Oh, not so many as you might think. She's the god of knowledge, isn't she? Isn't it natural that after so many hundreds of years of watching vah live and die in crushing poverty and near-starvation in dank caves mere meters away from her empty city that she would be at least a *LITTLE* curious about us? After all, there are some things you can't learn by ordering your guards to turn away a helpless group of refugees. Of course, you could always ask *her*, but you'll have to ask pretty loudly if you expect to beat an answer out of the solid block of ice that witch calls a soul.'
You say, '...I had thought you were simply angry at her for tearing you away from your old life.'
Nevaldan Rehn tells you, 'And what a life it was! I saw the fall of my people, the destruction of our cities. I watched us lose everything we had. I lived for years in the caves just outside Jayla's miserable city. I *personally* asked her minions for refuge. They said they would ask, and they did. The answer was no. Over half our number died during the first winter, but every time we asked, the answer was *always* no. But now... *now* she has time for us! Now, so much later *NOW* she can hear us! But is it to help? Is to to actaully *answer* a gods-damned *prayer*? OF COURSE NOT! All she wants to do is jerk us around on little strings for stars-know-what insane arbitrary little purpose that's cooking in her inscrutable brain.'
You say, 'Why now? Why pull vah to here from all over?'
Nevaldan Rehn tells you, 'I have no idea.' Nevaldan spits. 'She evades all my questions. At least she'll listen to them, which is more than I got before you found Shaylan. The traveller's attitude shifted winds immensely after that.'
You say, 'Is it safe to talk that way about a god?'
Nevaldan Rehn tells you, 'Of course not. Not only is she incredibly dangerous, but our people are in the water and she's got the only rope. I must be respectful around her at all times.'

Find a traveller (unknown zone  • unknown loc) .

You say, 'Hail, a traveller'
a traveller says, 'Hello, <Player Name>. Nevaldan sent you to me, yes?'
You say, 'Yes, he did. How can I rescue the last vah refugee?'
a traveller says, 'Two, <Player Name>. There are two refugees that need rescue--Vahir Rahkahl, and also Vahir Ghan. And it will not be easy. They are not simply lost: they are outright trapped. Vahir Ghan lies in Misery, while Vahir Rahkahl suffers in the Plane of Torment. Each will require seperate measures to free, but both will require a Shir Blade. I know of two: one which can be found in the everchill caverns, with the yetis there. The other was held by a looter who met his end among the largest piranha in the kedge.'
You say, 'What do I do with the swords, once I find them?'
a traveller says, 'Bring them to me so that I can make certain they are what we seek. After that, you must feed them to a dragon called Parcelan the Devourer.' The traveller ignores your skeptical expression. 'When he has eaten them, kill him, then retrieve the blades from his belly. Do not worry if he drives you off--simply be patient and fight him another day. He won't be able to destroy the blades and so you may take your time retrieving them from him. Once you get them back, bring them to me.'

Gather and give to a traveller:

  • A Grimy Shir Blade
  • A Tarnished Shir Blade
The traveller inspects the blades carefully, 'Yes, these are the blades you seek.'

You receive A Weakened Shir Blade from a traveller.

You receive A Drained Shir Blade from a traveller.

Find Parcelan the Devourer (Dragon Necropolis  • Southwestern most Cave room) and give him both Shir Blades.

Parcelan snatches the swords away from you and eats them with one smooth motion of his maw. The dragon pauses, unsure of the thing he's just eaten.
Note: Parcelan the Devourer goes invulnerable for a few seconds..
The magic in the blades twists in Parcelan's belly, driving him to murderous rage. Wave after wave of nauseating miasma kicks up from his stomach and sprays out onto the battlefield!
Note: At this point he regens to full HP, gains single target rampage, and an (Unknown) large poison AE

Kill Parcelan the Devourer!

Parcelan the Devourer 's body convulses spasmatically as the hunger in his eyes fades.

Loot A Drained Shir Blade and A Weakened Shir Blade from Parcelan the Devourer's corpse.

Return to a traveller and give her both.

The traveller runs her hands along the blades. 'There. I have sealed in the magic that Parcelan endowed the blades with.'

a traveller returned A Drained Shir Blade to you.

a traveller returned A Weakened Shir Blade to you.

Complete Saving Vahir Rahkahl and Saving Vahir Ghan.

Note: Have room in your inventory for Vahir Banner
You say, 'Hail, a traveller'
a traveller says, 'You have done well, Nilaat. The Vahir may not speak much, but they are grateful nonetheless--as am I, after a fashion.' The traveller hands you a rolled-up piece of cloth. 'The second Vahir wanted me to give you this.'

You receive Vahir Banner from a traveller.

You say, 'Who are the Vahir, anyway?'
The traveller shakes her head. 'You'll have to hear that from them.'
