Junior Researcher Thurkin says, 'You! Associate! I need your help.'

You say, 'What can I do?'

Junior Researcher Thurkin says, 'The goblins, associate, the goblins! The forest is full of them, and the caves to the north even more so. They have already attacked our expeditions into the forest several times, and I believe they know that our base is here. I want you to take this disguise device - my own invention - and use it to slip into the goblin caves. Talk to their leader and find out if they are planning to attack us. Then return to me, give me the device back, and report what you saw. What we're doing here is important, and I can't allow any goblin interference to disrupt our work.'

You receive Goblin Disguise Device from Junior Researcher Thurkin.

Note: The Goblin Disguise Device has 10 charges on it when you are given it, but is *not* rechargable. If you use up all of the charges before speaking to King Nazilak, you will render this quest, and thus also the Main Quest, incompletable without GM assistance.

Find the caves in the north region of Heartland Plateau. Activate the Goblin Disguise Device and head in.

Find King Nazilak (Heartland Plateau  at 3670, 790  • Deep in the goblin caves, in the big room over a rock) .

You say, 'Hail, King Nazilak'

King Nazilak turns a baleful gaze on Tulians, 'Scout! Report!'

You say, 'Uhh...report what?'

King Nazilak unfolds a long arm and slaps you hard across the face, 'Useless scout! I told you scouts spy on little-people in machine-cave. They threat or not? Report!'

You say, 'Ouch! Uhh... they are no threat at all, Great Nazilak'

King Nazilak glowers at you dubiously, 'No threat? Are you SURE, scout?'

You say, 'No threat at all, Great Nazilak! They are weak, very weak! They present you with no danger!'

King Nazilak grins, 'Good! Good! We attack lizards-in-tents then... attack soon...' he suddenly looks suspicious, '... unless other scouts say different things. Then you will be in trouble, scout, trouble!'

You have learned the plans of the Goblins.

Give Junior Researcher Thurkin:

• Goblin Disguise Device

Junior Researcher Thurkin accepts the device back as he listens to your story, face growing grim at the end, 'You may think what you did was clever... but if the other goblin scouts report a different story, the king will have all the more reasons to attack us. You have to prevent this. Hurry out into the forest and deal with the scouts. Kill enough of them that the goblin king won't get ANY reports back at all. A small amount of the scouts we had to kill when they attacked our guards earlier carried some peculiar beads. Kill enough of them that you have ten beads to show me, and don't come back until you do!'

Gather and give Junior Researcher Thurkin:

• Goblin Scout Beads x 10

Junior Researcher Thurkin snatches the beads from <Player Name> and begins to carefully count them. Finally he gives a grudging nod, 'Let's hope that does it, then. Next time you're doing work for the Council, Associate... DON'T get creative, you hear?' he mutters as he turns away.
