Council Assistant - Spirit Call

From SoDWiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Follow the A gnoll priestess around to the stair island filled with goblins. This quest is tricky, very tricky, the gnoll priestess has very few HP and the water goblins are higher level than she is. Rooting the goblins so you can better control agro is a must, you'll probably need to try this quest multiple times before you'll be familiar enough with it to intercept the goblins before she has a chance to engage them and lose a lot of HP. The gnoll priestess can be healed. Also do not attempt to engage mobs before you get the emote as this may cause the quest script to freeze(may be fixed).

Note: Spell: Flight of the Eagles or some other sustainable levitation spell is highly suggested for this quest. Be sure to cast it on the entire group before speaking to a gnoll priestess
You say, 'Hail, a gnoll priestess'
a gnoll priestess says, 'Bark! Hail, <Player Name>! You are always welcome here, and I owe you my eternal gratitude for freeing my husband from his torment.'
You say, 'Could you tell me more about your people?'
The gnoll priestess reclines on the altar, draping her arms across her knees. 'First, tell me about yours. If we're to be allies, I'd like to know more about you.'
You say, 'The Council of Innovation isn't one people. Rather, it's a loose orginization of like minded members of many peoples. Everyone from every race is welcome, so long as they have an open mind and a willingness to learn. We work through knowledge for the betterment of all.'
a gnoll priestess says, 'Mrr... a noble purpose, but how much do you really fulfill it? Gathering knowledge, finding 'like-minded people', sure. Bark! But helping people? What, specifically, has your group done for 'the betterment of all'? Not you, just your organization.'
You say, 'Er, I don't know off the top of my head...'
The priestess laughs, waving dismissively with her hand. 'Bark! I Didn't expect that you would, I just wanted you to think about it. I'm sure *you* have done plenty, but you would do plenty on your own, wouldn't you? So would everyone in your group, no? So what use is your group?'
You say, 'We often work together to reach complex goals.'
a gnoll priestess says, 'Bark! Is that so?' She folds her hands under her muzzle, grinning predatorially at you. 'Then we've reached the crux of my question: Why are you, alone, here for all your group? Does it only take one person to forge an alliance between my people and your Council?'
You say, 'I... I don't actually know.'
The priestess smiles wanly. 'The answer is that your Council probably doesn't consider us important enough for an actual partnership. The view us as simple, irrelevant--and honestly, to you, we probably are. You came here to learn, not to gather like-minded people to your cause, and not to forge a meaningful alliance.'
You say, 'I hadn't thought of it like that.'
The priestess stands, nodding. 'I don't blame you, understand. But...' She pauses, shrugging. 'I *had* allowed myself to hope for more. Bark!'
You say, 'I can talk to them, see if I can't change their minds.'
a gnoll priestess says, 'Perhaps, but in honesty, if you want to help, we need it more here.' The priestess looks off to the northeast. 'The plague has demolished my people, <Player Name>. We lost everything. We can only hope to gather survivors here and rebuild, but in order to do that, we must deal with the plaguewind.'
You say, 'What do you have in mind?'
a gnoll priestess says, 'When you...' The priestess swallows. 'When you slayed my mate, you released his spirit from its torment, but that is not enough. He now drifts restless on the winds of Dalaya. We must bring him back here, to this altar, to be put to rest.'
You say, 'How can we do that?'
a gnoll priestess says, 'The goblins on the isle possess a circle of great power. It rests atop a long stair--it's difficult to miss. If you escort me there, I can call my mate's spirit down to earth. Just let me know when you're ready.'
You say, 'I am ready.'
a gnoll priestess says, 'Then let us begin.'

Follow a gnoll priestess as she goes down to the docks.

a gnoll priestess says, 'May the Ocean Lord protect us. Bark! We must not fail.'
The gnoll fishermen nod.

Stay with a gnoll priestess as she begins running across the ocean. She will stop on a small rocky island and be attacked by a small wave of Lake Starfall goblins.

a gnoll priestess says, 'Bark! The lookouts have spotted us. Defend yourself!'

Stay with a gnoll priestess while she runs toward the island with the stairs. A wave of goblins will attack her before she reaches the island, while she is still over the lake.

a gnoll priestess says, 'The goblins have seen us! Bark! Prepare yourself!'

Accompany a gnoll priestess as she makes her way through the goblins on the island and up the stairs.

a gnoll priestess says, 'Not much farther now! Bark!'

A gnoll priestess finally stop at the top of the stairs.

a gnoll priestess says, 'Bark! Come and speak with me. I am ready to begin the ritual.'
You say, 'Hail, a gnoll priestess'
The gnoll priestess concentrates on the air around her and begins to chant quietly. After a time, she opens her eyes, shuddering slightly. 'He is with me, now. Bark! It's been so long since I felt his presence... even this is a great comfort. Thank you, <Player Name>, from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done. I must return to the village now, but come speak with me as soon as you can.'

A gnoll priestess will return to her original location. Return to her there.

You say, 'Hail, a gnoll priestess'
a gnoll priestess says, 'Hail, <Player Name>. He is... at rest, now.' She hugs herself, ears flicking about nervously. 'After so long without him, it was hard to give him up again. I feel his loss more keenly than ever, but there is something I must do before I can join him. As for you, I have sent word to your Council of what you have done. They will no doubt reward you.'
