Find Taval the Fluxator (Stormkeep at 1200, 1020, -60 • Arena area (Spawns inside BANK for quest hand in - if he is not up at his usual place)) .
You say, 'Hail, Taval the Fluxator'
Taval the Fluxator says, 'Hmm... greetings, <Player Name>. I have heard of you. Surely you have heard of me, the Keeper of the Wands.'
You say, 'Unfortunately I haven't.'
Taval the Fluxator says, 'Hah! I thought my duty was common knowledge, but I suppose I expect too much of ignorant outsiders. I keep sacred the Rod of the Fluxation and the Rod of Living Fire... well... I did. Until recent theft.'
You say, 'Do you have any other information?'
Taval the Fluxator says, 'It all started some months ago, when one of the wands in my keeping, the Rod of Living Fire, mysteriously began losing its power. Its radiance and heat waned more and more every day, the magic bleeding out of the wand as water from a cracked bowl. Puzzled and powerless to stop it, we spoke to the adventurers that frequent our city, and one, named Zekjiv, claimed to have the Solution. He spoke of a molten core in the midst of the frozen earth of wastes, from where the wand gained its power. He spoke long and convincingly, so we sent him, along with three of our most trusted men, on a quest to this molten core.'
You say, 'Interesting. Go on.'
Taval the Fluxator says, 'A thief, a traitor and a murderer he turned out to be. We found the corpses of our men, not far from the confines of the city itself, scorched by fire and raked by claw. Of Zekjiv was no trace. Perhaps, Haenir, you have an idea? The great irony of it all is that shortly after the leave of Zekjiv, an aged text was found that contained information on the wand, and what needed doing to restore it of its former power. If you.. yes. It is better that way... If you somehow recover it from the thief, along with the required items to recharge it... namely, a lavacore stone, the heart of an ice render and a flawless living crystal, I would be willing to pass the Wand on to you, to be used in the battle against our common foes.'
You say, 'Tell me about the lavacore stone.'
Taval the Fluxator says, 'A lavacore stone is a mystical stone bound with the power of lava itself, taken from the elemental plane of fire. They can sometimes be found in the possession of dragons, though they would hide such a treasure well. Dragons are commonly buried with their most prized possessions, perhaps you could find one in their graveyard.'
You say, 'Tell me about the ice render heart.'
Taval the Fluxator says, 'As the name implies, the dead heart of an ice render. Ice Renders live in the vast icy caverns below the dwarven city of Thurgadin, and are much rarer than their sea-dwelling cousins in the Wyvernfang Coast.'
You say, 'Tell me about the flawless living crystal.'
Taval the Fluxator says, 'Living crystal is crystals that are enchanted to support a magical sentience - the crystalline constructs of Sorcerer's Labyrinth are fashioned from this material. To find a construct fashioned from flawless crystal though, would be no easy task - it is exceptionally rare. Regardless, any flaw will make the crystal unusable, no matter how small.'
Gather and give Taval the Fluxator:
- Flame Scepter
- Ice Render Heart
- Flawless Living Crystal
- Lavacore Stone
Taval the Fluxator says, 'Ah! Extraordinary. I trust the thief lies dead by now, aye? Good, very good... I shall reforge then wand, and then I believe I shall pass it on to you, as a reward for killing that vile thief. There... it has been reforged. A work of beauty, is it not?'
