Walkthrough

Find Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins (Dreadlands  at 358, 9690, 1068  • Refuge, Most South West building.) .

You say, 'Hail, Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'Just who I was hoping to see. I fear I have a dire warning for you.'
You say, 'A warning? Is there a problem?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'I'm afraid so. I haven't brought it up with the council yet, because I don't want further panic after the incident with Darima. That and it concerns you directly. They know about you.'
You say, 'They? Who are they?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'The Claws. You have done them wrong. You have embarrassed them, and the Claw will not tolerate embarrassment. I know they will cover up what you did, to make sure no one finds out about it. I know they will try to take vengeance on you. And I know they have a perfect description of a <Player Race> <Player Class> outsider, seen wandering 'the D sector'. Finally, and this is the warning, I know they have hired Raptor.'
You say, 'Raptor? Who is he?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'Let me ask you this first, <Player Name>. If your way of life was being attacked, how would you react?'
[D1] - Good Shift?
You say, 'Fight back of course. Defend those who are close to you against those who would harm them.'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'How very like you to answer like that. But you are right to an extent. Fight back before harm comes to those you care about. Raptor is a hunter <Player Name>. A good one, and you are his prey.'
[D2] - Evil (+3)
You say, 'Fight back of course. Annihilate the threat and all that ally with them. Ensure none of them can ever strike back.'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'This is why I like you. You know how to act when the enemy arrives. Strike a blow so hard, they can't fight back. And that is what they are hoping to do. Raptor is a hunter <Player Name>. A good one, and you are his prey.'
[D3] - Neutral or No Shift?
You say, 'I'm here aren't I?'
MISSING TEXT
You say, 'So what do you think I should do?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'The solution is simple. Kill Raptor before he kills you. Actually doing this is tricky, for a number of reasons. One, Raptor isn't dumb. He's a hunter. He'll follow you for days and strike when you are weakest. This brings up point two. He will follow you, and you could lead him back here. We can't have that. Until you deal with him, we can't have you return here. After you prepare yourself, tell me, and you will not be allowed back here until I know the game is over.'
You say, 'Got any more details on Raptor?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'A few. What do you want to know specifically?'
You say, 'Where can I find him?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'That is also tricky. Odds are he'll find you, but I have ways of finding his general whereabouts for you. Just ask after you are ready to leave.'
You say, 'How does he fight?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'He is a trained killer. Very skilled with a bow, capable of extended invisibility, and has startling control of animals. He is apt at poison and trap use. He has quite a few magical artifacts that allow rapid movement on demand. Be very careful when he focuses on that bow <Player Name>. Very careful. I'm also told of his patience. If you fight him with others, he'll flee. Prepare yourself before he finds you.'
You say, 'What if I need to contact someone here?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'I'll be your only direct contact for the time being. It is not unusual for me to be near anywhere, so if you need me, find me behind the Citadel.'
Note: After you say the next dialog you will no longer be able to pass through the cave to get to the Refuge camp. You will be able to port into the camp however. Your bind point will also be changed, no mater where it was, to outside of the Refuge cave in the snow area of Dreadlands.
You say, 'Ok, I'm ready to deal with him.'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'Very well. After you leave the valley this time, you will not be allowed back until he's dealt with. Remember you can find me behind the Citadel if needed, near where you and Girix's operation was done. Don't fail <Player Name>. Prove you can handle this, and the real mission starts.'

Journal Text: A contract on my life has been taken, and the assassin Raptor is on my trail. He must be stopped before he endangers everything I've worked for. Until that happens I cannot return to the rebel valley. Rorlna will be my only contact, and she will meet me behind the Citadel of the Claw as needed, where I met with Girix so long ago.
Note: Raptor can be found in any of the fowling zones: Dreadlands, Emerald Jungle, Prophet's Landing, Tears of Elael, The Murk, or The Remnants of Old Ikild. You must fight him solo with no outside help from other players. The fight will be a bit different based on your class. You must fight him four (4) times taking his life down around 20-25% each time.

Find and defeat Raptor (Dreadlands  at Roams  • East of Citadel of the Claw typically in the North close to The Bloodied Quarry.) .

1st fight:

Raptor says, 'So you've found me <Player Name>? Let's see if the rumors of your strength are accurate.'

Once you get him around ~75-80%:

Raptor says, 'Well <Player Name>, you ARE as tough as they say. Time to rethink my strategies.'
Raptor flicks his tail twice, then disappears!

You gain 10,000 experience!!

2nd fight:

Raptor says, 'Ah there you are <Player Name>. Ever elusive.'

Once you get him around ~55-60%:

Raptor says, 'Well <Player Name>, you ARE as tough as they say. Time to rethink my strategies.'
Raptor flicks his tail twice, then disappears!

You gain 10,000 experience!!

3rd fight:

Raptor says, 'Ah there you are <Player Name>. Ever elusive.'

Once you get him around ~35-40%:

Raptor says, 'Well <Player Name>, you ARE as tough as they say. Time to rethink my strategies.'
Raptor flicks his tail twice, then disappears!

You gain 10,000 experience!!

4th fight:

Raptor says, 'Ah there you are <Player Name>. Ever elusive.'

Once you get him around ~15-20%:

Raptor says, 'All good things must come to an end sometime, eh <Player Name>? Let's give this the glory it deserves. Meet me on the small island, north of the Field of Bone at night. We'll finish the match there.'
Raptor flicks his tail twice, then disappears!

You gain 10,000 experience!!

Journal Text: Raptor has issued his challenge. At night. In the Field of Bone. I'm to find a small island north of it all, and meet him for the final showdown.

Final Showdown

Note: You must now find Raptor on a small island North of Field of Bone only at night time in game. He can be pretty buggy and will attack you sometimes when you approach him. If this happens you will have to drop combat or die since he is unkillable. Walking up to him slowly, without invis, from the north seems to mitigate him from attacking you.

Find Raptor (Field of Bone) .

Raptor says, 'Ah, I was beginning to think you wouldn't show. Come, let's talk.'
You say, 'Hail, Raptor'
Raptor says, 'Ya know, its quite a shame I have a hit on you. I can just imagine us exchanging tales of the most thrilling of hunts, over a nice pitcher of Elaels Finest. Instead we fight to the death, which, I must admit, is in many ways superior.'
[D1]
You say, 'Call off the hunt and you might make it off this island.'
Raptor says, 'I'm afraid I can't do that. Would damage the reputation far too much, and I'm nothing without my reputation. But for that courtesy I'll give you a freebie. It wasn't hired by the Claw. They've already reported you to Baldakos and Saitha after that spider incident.'
[D1]
You say, 'Wait who hired you then?'
Raptor says, 'That, I'll leave to your imagination. I was pretty surprised when she approached me though. Are you ready <Player Name>?'
You say, 'Have it your way. Let's fight.'
Raptor says, 'Eleal bless this duel. Enguarde!'
Raptor says, 'It ends here and now, <Player Name>. Face the wrath of the master of the staff!'
Note: I believe this is the only way that will result in you not having to fight Raptor to the death.
[D2]
You say, 'No, I won't have it end this way. You'd be too valuable an ally.'

[D2]
You say, 'Is that all? If you have nothing important to say, then lets finish this.'

[D3]
You say, 'Enough! Lets fight!
Raptor says, 'Eleal bless this duel. Enguarde!'
Raptor says, 'It ends here and now, <Player Name>. Face the wrath of the master of the staff!'

You have slain Raptor!

Gather Raptor's Charm.

Your journal has been updated. [Those who hunt hunters]

Journal Text: It's over, I've killed the killer. I'd best report back to Rorlna.

Return to Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins (Dreadlands at 588, -3003, 27  • Middle of the eastern wall of Citadel of the Claw between four pillars.) .

You say, 'Hail, Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'Is it finished? Is the Raptor defeated? More importantly do you have proof of the deed?'
You say, 'He's dead. I have his charm to prove it.'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'Well done <Player Name>. Everyone in the valley was fearing the worst when you left, but those fears can be lifted now. You are welcome to return'
You say, 'Rorlna, Raptor told me something...'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'I see. I suppose I should have purchased the full package then.'
You say, 'So you hired Raptor to kill me? Why?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'Do not misinterpret my actions <Player Name>. I want the same things you want. I want the rebels to act. With this act, everyone in Ikild will know that Raptor has been defeated by you. Everyone. Actions will be taken to find you. We'll be forced to move. You'll see. What I did was for the best for everyone, yourself included.'
[D1] - Lawful Shift?
You say, 'We could have found some way to make them act. Forcing them to act against there will is wrong.'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'You underestimate the ability of people to ignore a threat until it descends on them. Regardless whats done is done. Go back to the valley, and prepare yourself. I have a feeling Master Kair`got is going to want a word with you.'
[D2] - Chaotic (+6)
You say, 'A little lie can go a long way. It's better for everyone this way.'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'Precisely. The rebels need to act before its too late, and you need them to act before Kaezul strikes your home again. It is win win. Regardless whats done is done. Go back to the valley, and prepare yourself. I have a feeling Master Kair`got is going to want a word with you.'

Your faction standing with The Slave Rebellion has gotten better!

Journal Text: So Rorlna was behind the contract. What a dangerous woman.
You say, 'Rorlna, how deep into all of this are you really?'
Rorlna, Mistress of Assassins says, 'More than you can ever know <Player Name>.'
