Seeker Tresaria is going to send you off to give you the choice of wanting to go Good or Evil and, because there was no guide to the Evil part of the Quest, I thought I would go ahead and do this for my wizard and for the other people out there who would be interested in following under the Evilness of SoD.

                                        Taroceth the Decaying Quest

Quick background: I'm starting this part of the quest at level 65 as a Wizard and 10aa points. No real reason as to why I am what I am when I started this. But being a Wizard is going to help getting around of course.

You say, 'Hail, Taroceth the Decaying' Taroceth the Decaying tells you, 'Ah, another has come to Taroceth seeking the ways of the plague. I too have come to these lands to study the corruption in them. The plagues in the creatures of these lands are powerful ally to the Cult of Entropy - one we must not allow to go unharnessed. Do you understand, then? We must learn to use the corruption to our advantage.'

  • - [D1] Yes! I too wish to corrupt the pure.
  • - [D2] You're a madman, and a fool at that.

You say, 'Yes! I too wish to corrupt the pure.' Taroceth the Decaying tells you, 'Good, then I welcome you to gather and learn of the corruption. Before we can learn, however, we must take a moment to address a growing issue - the efforts of the fools of Newport and Surefall to hunt down and kill corrupted animals to keep the corruption from spreading. Recently a group of Rangers from Surefall arrived and began hunting the animals, taking their blood for their own studies. I want them dealt with. Bring me the heads of four of those fools that you will find in this region. Go!

YOU ONLY NEED TO TURN IN 1 HEAD TO COMPLETE THE QUEST!

  • Note the 4th one I killed was located around the same area as the first kill. This would lead to the assumption that there are only 3 of these trackers in the zone which he asks you to return 4 of their heads.

  • Also something to consider. If you were to look at the map and see it as a grid, the first 3 kills would make a triangle on this grid, so they are pretty well spread out. You might want to get a tracker to assist you with this if you are not already a class that has the skill ( Druid / Bard / Ranger )

Turn in the 4x heads that Taroceth is requesting -

You gain 5000 experience!! Taroceth the Decaying tells you, 'Good, very good. Now we can continue with our own studies unimpeded. Wait... someone approaches!'

At this time - Priestess Andrenia and 2x a surefall ranger spawn near him. You are to kill these 3 NPCs without letting Taroceth the Decaying die at their hands!

Taroceth the Decaying says, 'Hah! They stood no chance... entropy is a powerful tool, friend. Listen, if you wish to learn more, then speak to me again.

  • Note - If you are doing on one than more character in a row, Priestess Andrenia has to respawn in tower, or there is a lockout to do the next turn in.

Taroceth the Decaying tells you, 'They were fools to think that there was even a miniscule chance of defeating our power. Now then, with the do-gooders out of the way, you should seek out natives of these lands to learn more of the corruption. Perhaps they will teach us what is it we must know to fully harness its power: an elder leader of the Kargyxx of the Badlands, a priestess of the gnolls of Starfall, and the leader of a dejected Centaur tribe who has taken up in the hills to the west - near the city of Newport.'

  • You gain 2500 experience!!

  • The dejected Centaur Tribe leader you're looking for is called

Helleron of the Plains - he is in Centaur Hills located near the Surefall Glade zone line, NW corner of the map just above the lake.

Return to Taroceth the Decaying and hail him.

Taroceth the Decaying tells you, 'You've learned of the natives of these lands and their past experiences with the corruption, and the knowledge you bring me of the shades is important. These shades, they are crucial to the corruption here ... I must research them further so as to understand how to strengthen their power. For now, we are done, but you may return at a later time and assist my efforts, should you still desire to see corruption's spread. Entropy walk with you, (Your name)!'

  • You gain 5000 experience!!
  • Your faction standing with Cult of Entropy has gotten better!
  • You have learned the corruption of the Badlands.
