Find Donella (Zenn Malath  at -387, -4, 132  • Just outside the monk guild) .

You say, 'Hail, Donella'

The young Taldorian eyes you and takes on a sudden, serious pose.

Donella says, 'Inventive...'

Donella says, 'Intelligent...'

Donella says, 'And intimidated by no one.'

Donella says, 'Mark the purple of my garb, Taldorian, for it be the color of your imminent doom. Ka-pow!'

Donella says, 'What do you think? Was my introduction sufficiently intense? Did I sound like a deadly, fearsome ninja? The others said it was too wordy.'

You say, Intense' is definitely one word to describe it, yes.'

Donella says, 'You think so? Great! Then I'll keep it. But something still feels off about my ninja persona. Do you see it?'

You say, 'Forgive me. I meant to bring up the way you grip that ulak... I somehow picture you wielding something different.'

She looks down at her weapon and frowns.

Donella says, 'That must be it! This weapon never did feel right to me. But... the others all use ulaks. Shouldn't we be learning the same weapon? Isn't it bad to be different?'

You say, 'I can't speak for ninjas, but individuality is an important aspect of monkhood. There is no single 'right' fighting style among my class. Some of us prefer bare fists while others prefer two-handed staves. Some prefer flying kicks while others prefer eagle strikes. We must each find the fighting style that most resonates with us, and that includes weapon choice.'

Donella says, 'I never looked at it that way before. You're right! But if not an ulak, what weapon should I be learning?'

You say, 'The staff is wielded by fearsome fighters and stoic sages alike. It would be the ideal weapon for your group's most knowledgeable ninja.'

Her eyes light up.

Donella says, 'Now there's a weapon I wouldn't mind learning! I have no money to buy one, however.'

You say, 'How about a trade? I'll buy you a staff from the Monk guild, and in return, you can offload that ulak on me.'

Donella says, 'You'd do that for me, <Player Name>? It's a deal. I'll wait right here.'

Find or buy a Staff (they are sold in the anchorage building) and give it to Donella.

The young Taldorian shivers with excitement as she grips the new weapon.

Whoosh!

Thwip!

Swish!

Donella says, 'Wow! You're right, <Player Name>, this is the perfect weapon for me!'

Donella says, 'Thanks for helping me find the weapon that's right for me. Remember what you said about individuality? Well, I gave my ulak a little individuality of its own while you were away. I painted it purple for you to remember me by. I hope you don't mind. Here you go.'

You gain 4000 experience!!
