Find Trader Valner (Heartland Plateau  at 1260, 1940  • Silver Crown camp) .

You say, 'Could you arrange a meeting with the Great Dryad for me?'
Trader Valner sighs, 'Alright, <Player Name>. You've shown to be worth it, even though I have no wish to deal with those creatures. I will send a runner with a message and see what they want in exchange. You just wait here.'
You say, 'You wait for the runner to return: 'Alright...
A long while later, the runner returns, and gives Trader Valner a report. The trader reads over it and turns to you.'
Trader Valner says, 'Their demand is that we do not fell any trees within an area of fifty metres from their sacred grove. I hope you appreciate what the Silver Crown will give up for you, <Player Name>, that is timber of the finest quality. When you are ready, I will send a response that we agree to the deal, if the Great Dryad comes here to meet with you.'
You say, 'I am ready.'
You wait as another runner is sent out. After some time, a tall, proud dryad strides into the room, gazing on you and the trader with calculating eyes.

Samethia the Great Dryad (Heartland Plateau  •) appears in the doorway.

You say, 'Hail, Samethia the Great Dryad'
Samethia the Great Dryad looks at <Player Name> haughtily, 'You have bought my time, but my patience is not limitless. Ask your questions, and be quick about it, tree-killer.'
You say, 'Why are the Heartlands not corrupted?'
Samethia the Great Dryad says, 'I really cannot say for certain. When me and my daughters came to this place - some three dozen years ago - our own home had been taken by the corruption. The pureness of the earth here called to us, and in time we have come to understand that this pureness is somehow connected to the ancient, abandoned temple to the west. I believe that the metal guardians of the temple would be able to tell you more, but their minds sleep.'
You say, 'Their minds sleep? How can I wake them?'
Samethia the Great Dryad says, 'Most of them are too far gone, attacking anything in sight that is not as them. There is however, a giant guardian that appears inactive. I spent some time exploring the temple and its guardians, and found that the Large one reacts to the presence of dirt taken from the deeper parts of the forest. When roused as such, it asks for a 'command phrase', which I do not have and do not know how to get. There might be a clue somewhere in the temple.'
You say, 'Do you know anything more?'
Samethia the Great Dryad shakes her head, 'No. I have told you what I know.'
You say, 'Give me some of that dirt, and I will go look for myself.'
Samethia the Great Dryad gives you a Small pouch filled with rich black dirt, 'There. Our business is done, and I will return to my trees.'

You receive Dirt of the Heartland from Samethia the Great Dryad.

You have learned what the Great Dryad knows of the Heartland's protection.
