Trainer Varsh says, 'Hail, <Player Name>. If you've come for lessons in Archery, you'll have to return at a later time, as I am occupied with these two already. If you've some other desire, let it be known.'

Note: You can skip the following dialogue and hand him the Corrupted Essence directly, and completion of the previous quest is not necessary.

You say, 'Tzailav (or Shedari) sent me.'

Trainer Varsh says, 'You're the investigator I requested? Hm. You'll do. As I'm sure you know, the Glade Keepers are worried of the corruption that blights so much of the lands outside the hills. Many a race, such as the noble centaur, has fallen to its tendrils, and naturally we're worried it might happen to the residents of Newport and Surefall. To gain some insight into the matter, I have been asked to retrieve some part of what drives the corruption. From our reports, it appears that spectres will emerge at night from protected sites in the Badlands, roaming amidst the creatures and infesting them, turning them into corrupted counterparts. If you destroy these spectres, they might leave something which you can use and bring back to me.

Gather and give Corrupted Essence to Trainer Varsh.

'Trainer Varsh says, 'Very well done. I'll have this taken to the druids right away for examination. For a reward, please take this. It will help you in future brushes with plague and corruption.'
