Whoever you are, worthy, I pray this message has found you while it might yet do some good. As I write this, we are preparing to flee deeper into the ruins. Though we are loathe to leave the safety of this tower, we have no choice: the way out is lost to us and we are almost out of food. We must scavange from the city if we are to eat.
One by one, the vah around me gather their things. The mood is stormy: low growls and unkind mutters are the only sounds, as if silence will fool the spirits that haunt this place.
Of the Shahar, there has been no sign. Perhaps the spirits sank them, though in truth we would be better served to hope for the opposite. The danger we woke here will no doubt try to consume us both. They are no better off than we. The Vahl sent no soldiers because we knew the Shahar were watching; any warriors we brought, they would needs-be match, and likewise from them to us. And so we both came with nothing, in the interest of avoiding conflict. We will likely perish from this mistake.
