Upload Rights Granted
And as a side note, I'm sure you starting the ball on screen shots will invariably cause us to have to write up some new rules for the process etc. So be sure not to take it personally if it occurs. -Tyrsell 13:55, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I like them! Keep up the good work! -Tyrsell 15:01, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Realized you might not be watching User talk:Tyrsell#Uploading Images, but check it out when you get a chance. I've started working on some basic rules for handling the screenshots (so we can keep them organized and stuff) - Rari Talk 10:51, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Bad names, redirects, and moves
When a page is named badly, first look if the item also exists under the correct name. If not, move the existing page with the Move panel to the correct name, then update that page as necessary. If the page exists under both names, replace ALL of the content on the page with the bad name with: #REDIRECT [[Correct Name]]. Make sure you update any links (use "What links here") that aren't generated with DPL to reflect the correct name. DPL links (including those in Loot Tables) can be updated by resaving a page without making any changes to it, but this normally doesn't need to be done manually (it happens automatically once or twice a month.) - Rari Talk 18:20, 12 December 2012 (EST)
- Ah, thanks for the pointers. Sorry if I cluttered things up temporarily, but now I know what to do the next time around. :) Gnomish 18:29, 12 December 2012 (EST)
Shift categories
Added four categorizing parameters to the quest infobox: good, evil, chaotic, and lawful. just do, like | good = 1. This will categorize and fill out the alignment instead of alignment= (and existing quests should be pretty easy to update thanks to your list!) - Rari Talk 22:46, 12 December 2012 (EST)
- Very good idea! I've become a bit worried as to how to organize the shifts with the growing list because sometimes I make my own notes and other times I simply build on top of what a previous user has included. This should bring some consistency to things. Gnomish 23:22, 12 December 2012 (EST)

Thanks!
Hey I just realized I never thanked you for answering my question about the images. That was exactly what I was looking for =) Taosanterior 17:15, 2 March 2013 (EST)
Removed images from an MQ quest page
The images look super great on NPC pages, but they tend to break up the page too much when inserted into quest pages. If you still want them there, we can try to work something else out. - Rari Talk 09:19, 9 March 2013 (EST)
Ground spawns (as per question asked in IRC)
Fixed. I have a bot running to touch every entry in the category so that should be back to sorts by tomorrow. - Rari Talk 14:24, 26 June 2013 (EDT)

Spell effects vs scrolls
Been thinking about revamping how spell effects are in the wiki -- having (1) article for the effect (e.g., Grasping Roots) and (2) article for the item (e.g., Spell: Grasping Roots). Would require a fair amount of work and some tweaks to make sure certain auto-linking features are still working as intended, but it would allow for things like adding spell drops to mob loot tables, and quest rewards, etc. Thoughts?
Haenir (talk) 18:16, 16 April 2016 (EDT)
- I thought about that myself, but it'd be a huge undertaking for no practical gain apart from wiki completeness and maybe a small handful of unique spells (such as the Voices rewards). A ton of it could probably just be copied + pasted from one article to the next though. When I entered info for Cadence of the Muddled Mind earlier, I modeled it after the Shout of Agony page. It looks a bit weird, but it gets the job done and at least allows for linking to other articles in the case of loot/quest rewards. Gnomish (talk) 22:30, 16 April 2016 (EDT)
- The other benefit would be the ability to list spells on spell vendors, so that new folks can find the correct vendors for their spells easier, and will see the spells in erudin later on/etc. I also like having them at least for quested spells, like the runic spells. Marthog (talk) 22:37, 16 April 2016 (EDT)
- I hadn't thought of that. If someone feels like whipping up a template, perhaps Shout of Agony's page could be used as the blueprint. Or maybe just start from scratch. So many templates are full of extraneous/deprecated fields that just muddy up the process of creating new articles, and the last thing we need is another one of those... :P 22:53, 16 April 2016 (EDT)
