Set Traps
To set a trap, right click the trap kit. (Setting a trap does have a small chance to increase skill the "set/disarm traps" Skill) It will summon an unarmed trap pet. Hail the pet, and tell it which kind of trap you want to set. You will only be able to set whichever types of trap you've learned. Only one trap may be set at a time and it is possible to fail setting a trap. There is a 5 minute recast on the effect on the Basic Trap Kit. This can be reduced to 4 minutes with the Trap Kit.
Traps
Eight traps can be learned from the various Rogue guilds throughout Dalaya. One of each type of trap can be learned at level 20 for 3 each, and the remaining 4 at level 50 for 400 each.

Set Trap hotkey
/tar an_unarmed *Trap Type* /do #
A sensible way to title your hotkey is with the name of the trap (Mind, Blast, etc.) The first line of the hotkey targets the trap once you'd set it (the underscore is necessary.) The second line sets the type of trap. If you are unsure what traps you can set, hail your trap to see a list of the ones you have learned. Set your Sense Traps ability in the third line to level it up as you set traps. Replace # with the number associated with the ability. See Hotkey for more information.
