Max Level Restrictions
Some content in Shards of Dalaya is level-restricted, meaning that players must fall within a given level range in order to access that content. The player who wishes to get the full Dalayan experience would do well to seek out these zones and mobs before reaching certain level benchmarks.
Adepts
Adepts are specific mobs scattered across Dalaya that can only be engaged by players under a certain level cap. These mobs are sought after for their expable loot, which cannot be acquired once a player has surpassed a given adept's level range.
Certain Adepts are even accompanied by unique quests that cannot be undertaken by higher level players:
- Gristle's Hide yields Handmade Backpack.
- Leaking Undead - Part II yields Pristine Gladewood Amulet.
- Instrument of Vengeance yields Ring of Supreme Vengeance.
Treasure Hunting
Simple Maps utilize tiered loot tables that correspond to the level range of the participants. Once a player outgrows a given level range, the loot from the corresponding map tier becomes unattainable from that point on.
The level ranges for simple maps are as follows:
- Tier 1: 20 - 29
- Tier 2: 30 - 39
- Tier 3: 40 - 49
- Tier 4: 50 - 59
Level-Restricted Zones
The Cesspits
A zone entirely for people with a max level of 29.
The Runnyeye Citadel
A zone intended for levels 10-35 with a max level of 50 to avoid being deathtouched. A skillful player may be able to reach the bottom floor of this dungeon unscathed by following a very specific path, but that player will forever be unable to reach Ghulura, Queen of the Runnyeye, whose [NO DROP] loot ranks among the best in the zone. Furthermore, the Diabolic Contract which she drops is required for the completion of five class-specific quests within The Mountain Crags of Tarhyl; this means that these quests are effectively undoable after level 50.
