Find High Seeker Gavin (Valley of Erimal  at 1234, 686, -34  • Main palace - first floor) .

You say, "Hail, High Seeker Gavin"
High Seeker Gavin tells you, "Welcome back, Seeker <Player Name>. Are you ready to continue your journey?"
You say, "I am ready, Gavin."
High Seeker Gavin tells you, "Very good. I have been studying the device you gave me. It is a work of marvel, but I believe that the construct you communicated with was not entirely truthful - or more likely not in possession of the correct information. This device, when activated, would generate a small antimagic field, true, but nothing of the magnitude that protects the Heartlands. We must continue our search for the true source of its protective barrier."
You say, "What do you want me to do?"
High Seeker Gavin tells you, 'I have sent one of my best seekers, Navin, to further examine your findings in the temple. From her initial reports, it has become clear that this temple is only the tip of the iceberg of the secrets that the Heartland contains. Below it is a vast hollowed-out cavern, in which she reports to have found a whole buried city, filled with roaming clockworks and constructs. I want you to head there and team up with her. Search for any clues to the history and origins of these clockworks and the anti-magic barriers they possess.'

Find Seeker Navin (Heartland Undercaverns  • Entry area) .

You say, 'Hail, Seeker Navin'
Seeker Navin tells you, 'Ah, Seeker <Player Name>. Welcome to the Undercaverns. Quite a sight, aren't they? Alright, listen up. The clockworks here are universally aggressive to everything, and there appears to be no sneaking or using invisibility to get past them - they detect you right away. If we are to gain anything useful out of this place, we will have to go through its metal guardians to do so.'
You say, 'Yes,yes, get to the point.'
Seeker Navin tells you, 'Impatient, are we? Very well. Gavin's orders are to recover any books or texts we can find that might offer us clues to who the people that built this place were, why they created the clockworks and the anti-magic devices, and where they disappeared to. In other words, bring me back anything that looks remotely like writing. Furthermore, as a matter of personal interest I would like to study these shield generation devices. Every clockwork here seems to have one built into their central core, and there are four types of clockworks. Bring me back one of each core, and I reward you out of my personal stash.'
Note: Seeker Navin also offers to collect clockwork cores here, see Main Quest - Clockwork Core Research for more information on that optional sidequest.

Gather and give Seeker Navin:

  • Changing Winds
  • Metal Minds
  • Metalcrafter's Journal
  • The Nature of Magic
Note: These books can be handed in one at a time, in any order. They will be returned to you.

Handing in the first three Undercavern texts

Seeker Navin tells you, 'Oh! That's a fascinating find, <Player Name>. I have no doubt that it is an important puzzle piece in understanding this place. Just let me copy this... ah, there. You can have it back now. If you find any more texts, bring them here.'

You have found one of the Undercavern texts.

Handing in last of the Undercavern texts

Seeker Navin tells you, 'Let me read that. Ah... yes... this clarifies things. I think I understand what happened here now, <Player Name>. It seems that the people here were High Elves from the city you call Athica... indeed, it seems that they were the makers of the sentience from which the city is named! How they ended up here, we can only speculate, but it appears they were paranoid about the effects of magic on Dalaya and themselves, and were trying to create an ultimate weapon against magic itself. It also appears that they believe they succeeded. This weapon, this Behemoth, must be recovered from here and studied further, but we will not be able to do so without its codex... you will have find the codex that contains the command phrases for the Behemoth. Find me this codex, <Player Name>. Let's see what we can do with this weapon of theirs.'

Gather and give Prototype Codex II to Seeker Navin. (dropped by Clockwork War Engine)

Seeker Navin tells you, 'You say... this is the codex? But it's unreadable! I can't understand a word of it! Ahh... just take it back to Gavin. He'll know what to do. Damn, I was really hoping that I could take credit for this entire Behemoth business. Uh, we, I mean. We. Anyway... get it to Gavin, alright?'

Seeker Navin returned Prototype Codex II to you.

Give Prototype Codex II to High Seeker Gavin.

High Seeker Gavin tells you, 'You bring mixed news, Seeker. While it certainly confirms all our suspicions and hopes about the devices of the Heartlands, our inability to perceive the methods for their control... I will have to speak to my superior about this. Please wait here until I return.'

Your faction standing with Seekers of Erimal has gotten better!

You gain 125000 experience!!

Note: High Seeker Gavin goes away for a full 5 minutes.
You say, 'Hail, High Seeker Gavin'
High Seeker Gavin tells you, 'Seeker. I have spoken to my superior, and she wishes to have words with you herself. This rune will allow you to pass into the Sanctuary of Erimal. You will find her on the upper floors. I urge you not to be disturbed by her... appearance. She is quite old.'

You receive Sanctuary Rune from High Seeker Gavin.
