Researcher Keelan says, 'I specialize in wildlife. The toxicity of the war has started to damage the surrounding environment. If we survive this war, we do not want to leave a desolate wasteland to our ancestors.'

You say, 'Yes, what work do you have?'

Researcher Keelan says, 'The yclistinite waste has had negative effects on the wildlife on the region. We'll need to thin those out. To the south and to the west are a mutated species of tree know as the Scornwoods; they have been detrimental to the native bird population. Please uproot twenty and then return to me. Oh. If you have not spoken with Fenthwick Fizzlebang yet, he had a project he was working on that might be useful later for my research.'

Destroying these barrels with explosives will do the trick. Just dont  [sic] be near them when they blow, yeah?'

Note: If you do not run away quickly enough you will get nuked for a considerable amount of damage and it can very well kill you.
