Gorund Ebonblade is a Dwarf standing beside the forge in the small yard behind Ironforge's in Northern Newport. He mentions wanting to create a "truly great sword" and mentions an ancestor of his who wielded a "legendary blade" but fell battling Kaezul's forces. He knows little of him and asks you: "if you come across anything, could you please help an aging man fulfil his dream?" but no quest text follows this (for me).
Giving him the Ruined Sword from kaladim results in him asking you to collect items to remake the sword.
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Great. I have inspected the blade, and there are three items needed for me to reforge it. First, I will need to heat the blade with the hottest known liquid. Second, I will need some Erudian Ebon to replace the blade with. Thirdly, there appears to be gem of Lazanthium placed in the hilt, which needs to be replaced. This is a great task indeed, but if you ever find these materials, return them to me with the original sword.
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'You will need to look near Red Sun Peaks to find lava that is hot enough to make the blade malleable. (Drops from fire giants in Red Sun Peaks)
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Erudian Ebon was once a common resource and used in creating great buildings, but now it’s depleted. (No longer drops due to changes made to First Ruins)
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Lazanthium is also never seen anymore. It is highly valuable and mined to the point of reported depletion. It was once found in places of extreme cold. Sorry, I can’t help you any more. (Location Unknown)
