Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Have you considered my proposal to help me more?'

You say, 'What do you have in mind?'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Several things, actually!'

Kheechiz browses through the book.

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Ah, here!'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'These stories of the common folk are quite enlightening, but they DO let some questions unanswered. So I'd like to learn the stories of the people of rank as well.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'As you might know, my people had been quite secluded from the world untill  [sic] recently. And while I know more than I'd care to learn about Kaezul, I know little about his allies, the Dark Elves, nor his enemies, the orcs.'

You say, 'What do you want to know about the dark elves?'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Last time my people were active on this continent, there were no dark elves around here. So I'm curious about their origin! May I ask you to go to their old home, and recover four artifacts of cultural significance for me? I understand their old home to be a city called 'Nagthilian', so this shouldn't be too hard, no?'

You say, 'Nagthilian is full of deadly mist, but I will see what I can do.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Well, good luck then!'

Journal Text: To learn the history of the dark elves, Kheechiz asked me to retrieve four artifacts of cultural significance from the ruins of Nagthilian. What could possibly go wrong?!?

Gather and give Kheechiz, Master of Stories:

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Look at this, you bested the mist-filled city!'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Korila, will you take notes of this please?'

Kheechiz takes the items you hand him. His eyes turn white, as if he enters a trance. Shortly after, he starts talking with a voice not quite his own.

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Ah, Nagthilian, City of World's Desire, rivaled not even by Freeport!'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'But where one man sees glory, another man sees decadence and decay. And if the second man speaks his mind, strife is all but guaranteed.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Some called him a prophet, others called him a traitor.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'In the end, it didn't matter, because the man took matters in his own hands.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'The man did what he thought was necessary to make his people strong again.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Many would die in the process, but in his vision, those who survived would rise again, stronger than ever before.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'The man did exactly what he said he would do.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'But only half of the survivors followed him to his promised land, the other half named him 'the Betrayer', and fled to a system of caves well hidden in the Red Sun Peaks, becoming ever more xenophobic.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'The man's name is Baldakos.'

Korila takes note and writes down the story. After a quick proofread, she hands it to Kheechiz.

Kheechiz reads the story he just recited, and seems excited to see it for the first time.

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'This is fascinating! A schism after that terrible weapon was unleashed on this city? I need to learn more!'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'I beg you, will you go to the two splinter factions and retrieve me two items each?'

You say, 'What do you want from those dark elves?'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Hmm, let's see. For the local faction, how about a book written after they got here, and an insignia of rank from one of their officers, to see how their culture evolved?'

Kheechiz pauses for a moment as he seems to sort his thoughts.

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'And from those that remained in their ancient homeland - could you get me one of their most cherished heirlooms, and an example of their most expensive craft!'

You say, 'Fine, I'll do it.'

Journal Text: Of course, Nagthilian wasn't enough. Now Kheechiz wants a book and some insignia of rank from Baldakan, and a cherished heirloom and some expensive craft from the dark elves that remained in the old world...

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'What do we have here?'

Kheechiz inspects the items you brought to him.

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Splendid, this will do! Korila, will you take notes again?'

Korila nods in agreement.

Kheechiz takes the items you hand him. His eyes turn white, as if he enters a trance. Shortly after, he starts talking with a voice not quite his own.

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'After following him to his promised land, the dark elves founded a new city offshore on an island - Baldakan - and named it after their prophet. It is a place of strife, duels are common place, and they aren't even permitted to settle on the continent proper.'

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'Those who remained behind didn't fare much better. With their old home still overrun by mist, they retreated to a cave system deep below the mountains. Having turned even more xenophobic over time, they now attack anyone and everyone on sight who happen to stumble upon them, all while apparently guarding some creature born by the mist. Many of them are nothing but empty shells any more.'

Korila takes note and writes down the story. After a quick proofread, she hands it to Kheechiz.

Kheechiz reads the story he just recited, and seems excited to see it for the first time.

Kheechiz, Master of Stories says, 'A schism most deep indeed, and they diverged quite some by now. I don't expect them to mend it any time soon. But here, take this as a token of gratitude. I'm sure Korila can modify it for you if you don't like it in its current form.'

You receive Razadian Glyph of Aggression.
