Shadowknight Leveling Guide
This is an attempt to make a guide for my first and easily favorite class on SoD - the Shadowknight.
The Shadowknight is a very powerful ally for any group (great for tanking and holding aggro/hate/taunt).
This guide will be completed part by part, starting with level 49, and working its way forward until I have the time to run back and create a new Shadowknight to complete the guide with. Until then, let this guide service as an idea or what to steer towards (or away if you disagree) in a Shadowknight - I've done my best to play around with all aspects of leveling: Questing/Class Questing/Main Quest, Tradeskilling, Group Leveling and Solo leveling.
Goodluck all, hopefully this can be put to some use. - Kromdor
Levels
Right here (and every following "section") will list what I did to get from beginning to end of each level, if you have things to fill in for leveling please contribute!
Level 47-49
- At this point I had gotten assistance with my Barbute of Corruption part of the Shadowknight Thurgadin Quests, my fellow SK and I had a 60something Wiz assist us in order to make the task of collecting the pieces for these quests a breeze. You will want the Barbute of Corruption when you turn level 49 - it will make a bit of a difference in the strength of your newfound lifetap!
- I had just gained 2 levels working with others in the East Freeport market, killing A hungering shadows to get their drop Essence of Malevolence for my Shadowknight Thurgadin Quests, specifically for Bracer of the Shriven.
With a group of 4 (47Sk,53Sk,51Rog,53Enc) and assistance from a 63 cleric (for the Aego) we each pulled 2 levels or 2AA's in an okay amount of time, gaining 2.5k experience per a hungering shadow.
Level 49-50
- I have disbanded from the group and am eager to test out my 12 new spells, which seem VERY powerful. I left East Freeport and headed South to Northern Waste of Tarhyl to pick on some A guardian wraith to test the strength of my Spell: Life Leech, Spell: Dooming Darkness and new nuke Spell: Spear of Pain.
- My setup is as follows: Spell: Lifedraw, Spell: Life Leech, Spell: Spear of Pain, Spell: Dooming Darkness, Spell: Heat Blood, Spell: Spook the Dead, Spell: Invoke Fear (a filler, replace with what you need) and Spell: Feign Death.
- I spot A guardian wraith a Loc 462, 452 which is in the middle of the rectangular Northern Waste of Tarhyl, my strategy is as follows:
- 01: Aggro him with a 450+ Dmg Life Leech
- 02: Cast: Spear of Pain
- 03: Lure Him Away.
- 04: Cast: Dooming Darkness
- 05: Cast: Spook The Dead
- 06: Take a few steps back to reduce the risk of breaking Fear.
- 07: Repeat with Life Leech while he is Fear/Snared, if you're quick enough you can do 2 Spell: Life Leech's
- 08: When he's at his last 10-20% just melee, use Disarm and Spell: Lifedraw to prevent hugelosses.
- Each kill yields 4.1k-4.6k Exp (3-4%), 2-7 plat, and leaves me with just enough mana (10-15%) to Spell: Feign Death (cast cost: 5%)if it gets heated.
- A sand giant wants to rumble, he cons Light Blue.
- I use the same LSDF strategy I used on A guardian wraith, but use Spell: Invoke Fear instead of Spell: Spook the Dead.
- Each Kill yields 1.9k exp (1-2%), 8+/- plat, and doesnt drain me too much, probably could have melee'd - Easy cash.
- I use the same LSDF strategy I used on A guardian wraith, but use Spell: Invoke Fear instead of Spell: Spook the Dead.
- corrupted desert orc champion
- don't bother, I ran out of mana before he was at 60%life, you'll need some assitance with these guys at this level.
