Powerleveling

Powerleveling is a great way to create a diverse array of characters to utilize in differing situations. It is also a means to an end to optimally manage a main character. Powerleveling characters also affords you a better chance of success when attempting to achieve medial tasks.

Preparation

The best possible character to powerlevel new characters is the lowly Druid. She is the master of travel with her movement and transport spells. She can cure ailments and heal battle wounds. She protects with an AC buff and increase in health. Her damage shield is next-to-none for passive damage in battle! If things go wrong, she can also resurrect the fallen to continue on with the grind.

If this is your first character for SoD, I do highly recommend a druid. A pretty good level guide has been written and following it will assure that you get levels pretty fast. Try to achieve at least level 60 as the druid before beginning your powerleveling endeavor.

Equipment

Obviously the true dependency of your equipment is dictated by the class you choose to powerlevel. I have some recommendations about the items to use to help propel your character through its levels.

Funding

Fishing is a very profitable venture that doesn't take a lot of points-and-clicks to progress. It also doesn't depend upon a player for profit -- the NPC vendors are your source of cash flow. Since you are a druid (right?), you can transport yourself to all the fishing hotspots and progress to a decent fishing level after many mindnumbing hours of fishing and moving -- but it pays the bills.

To Quest or Not to Quest, ever

Questing can be faster or more beneficial. It is a case-by-case scenario. The Main Quest provides a lot of experience. It is best used to get over humps in grinding when you can't find an adequate place to kill. It also can save your sanity when you are drudging through boredom. The questing that is beneficial is the ones that are done passively while grinding out your levels.

Classes to be Leveled

Enchanter

Enchanters are great melee fighters, who woulda thought? Their path through powerleveling is one set with melee, buffing, summons/charming. Once you receive charm at level 12, your world really opens up!

1-6 Northern Newport is phenomenal experience. Summon your animation and let it go to town. Macro a /pet attack and run around telling it to kill several things. Every time you tell it to attack something, it places that mob in its Queue of Destruction. If you are attacked while it is fighting, once it dispatches its current target it seeks out your aggressor as top priority to kill, then continues on its Queue of Destruction. Telling it to back off will erase its Queue of Destruction, and you may address the pet's wounds or buffs before sending it out again. The skeletons are really easy to kill, so look for those! Kill bats, too. The giant beetles and wolves may yield more exp but they are harder to take down.
