The Triumvirate had again refused our request for additional yclistinite. They also contend our christening of the metal, despite our progress. We have mastered smithing and shaping the ore, but even more importantly, have begun to catalog its interactions with various phenomena. The metal interacts with light in a way unlike anything we have seen before - if you hold an ingot in front of a flame it will cast a shadow with a projection of the glowing flame inside.
Even more incredible, if one holds a piece of the refined metal they can channel their own thoughts or images through it, projecting them as illusions to others. I have decided to share only the passive qualities of the ore with Ikild for now, until we better understand its effects. I've begun training myself to control and project these illusions.
This morning I was in my office practicing, and heard Tkara speaking to my secretary in the outer chamber. I normally don't mind her visits, and she rarely brings unwelcome news, but my head was pounding already and I couldn't bear a half hour explanation of whatever portion of the project she had reorganized. I heard the knob begin to turn and desperately wished I could disappear, that she would only see an empty chair. She opened the door and could no see me. Luckily, she left quickly, as the strain worsened my headache even more. I shuttered the windows and have been resting most of the afternoon.
