The art of tailoring is a fine and ancient craft. This short compilation will teach you all that you need to learn the basics of tailoring. Unless you aspire for more advanced, magical creations, this text should supply everything you need.
The first thing a tailor needs to learn is a way to acquire the raw materials that he uses, usually taken from the beasts of the land. Whether you choose to put use to your own skills as a hunter, or contract it to others, your need for supplies from the wild will be constant throughout your career.
Leather Armor: This most simple of tailored armor types can be crafted from the skins of wolves and larger cats. Apply a hide (or two in the cases where you need to make a cloak, sleeves or leggings, three for a tunic) into your sewing kit along with a pattern. Get to work (hit Combine), and you should have a finished piece of armor in no time.
Silk Armor: To make silk armor you first need to refine the silk into swatches fit for your needle. Two silks from a spider worked in your kit will create a swatch. Afterwards, the swatch (two if you need to make a cloak, sleeves or leggings, three for a tunic or robe) and a pattern will craft the armor for you.
Reinforced Armor: The basic leather armor provides adequate protection for most, but some wish the additional sturdiness that thicker hides can provide. This armor is heavier but gives very good protection. All you need to craft reinforced armor is a bear hide; it is in all other aspects the same as the making of Leather Armor.
Studs: Using your sewing kit you can also apply studs to basic or reinforced leather armor for even greater protection. Reinforced armor strengthened with studs is the best basic armor a tailor can provide and you should look for books dealing with the use of ointments if you with to delve further into the tailor's craft.
