You say, 'For Entropy. What is my part in this?'
Decay Lord Grindrun cackles. 'Newport will fester and burn! The time has finally come to move out from the sewers, and launch our final assault on those who have grown fat and helpless on the surface!'
You say, 'For the glory of Gradalsh! What is my role in the coming slaughter?'
Decay Lord Grindrun gazes at you for a moment, then smiles. 'Yes... I see your role clearly now. But you have lived and fought with outsiders for too long! You must again prove your devotion to our cause. Prove you are fearless and focuses for the upcoming endeavour.'
You say, 'I have already proven myself to you, time and again! This request is outrageous.'
Decay Lord Grindrun laughs. 'Be that as it may, my vision leads me, not your hate. Cover yourself in the plagues of the land, the mundane, and return to me bearing three of the follwing: rotting plague, tomb rot, lesser tomb rot, disease cloud, or the Rust. Show me your devotion to Entropy! To Gradalsh! To me!'

Acquire three of the diseases:

Your journal has been updated. [A Plague for all Seasons]
Journal Text: Grindrun has informed me that many Paladins from the City of Mercy are visiting Newport. He wishes for me to dispatch 4 of them. This should prove simple enough.

Cultist Imden says, 'My Lord, news of trouble! The Warden is moving in.'
You say, 'Warden? Who is this Warden?'
Decay Lord Grindrun growls in anger. 'Warden Tarval. He's a ranger from the nearby glade. He's been investigating us since the death of Ledrana Stormkeeper. I'm sure you remember that one fondly.'
You say, 'I'm sure he is nothing. I shall dispatch him personally.'
Decay Lord Grindrun nods. 'Very well. Find and finish him and any followers he may have amassed. Do not let him escape.'

You say, 'Hail, Decay Lord Grindrun'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Your brutal reputation shall only grow if you keep this up <Player Name>... perhaps too much. You may find security high for your next task.'
You say, 'I fear nothing that Newport could possibly send at me.'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'I don't doubt that. Though the paladins you killed helped greatly, there are still others who could get in the way. They must be rendered harmless, and I have on me a poison that should do the trick.'
You say, 'Can't the Paladins just cure themselves of any poison?'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Yes, but it will buy us precious time. Time we still need. Take this vial, and poison the pool in the Paladins guild in North Newport. Just have it on your person and dipping into the pool will be enough. You cannot be spotted at all while doing this. Figure out some way for this to happen. If you need more poison, return to me.'
You receive Vial of Grinding Poison from Decay Lord Grindrun.

Note: Try Levitating over the wall or possibly using Invisibility to get past the Paladins who do see not through invisibility and killing the ones that do.

Journal Text: Mission accomplished! Time to report back to Grindrun.
Return to Decay Lord Grindrun.
You say, 'Hail, Decay Lord Grindrun'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Impressive <Player Name>. Very impressive.'
You say, 'I wish to hear of your vision now.'
Decay Lord Grindrun seems to grow pale for a second, but regains himself and speaks. 'True Entropy <Player Name>. And power beyond anything we could imagine. We set into motion the end of all, the destruction we have long sought to start. A pool of chaos... I- it is amazing.'
You say, 'Glory to Gradalsh! What a vision to receive from the Lord of Entropy himself!'
Decay Lord Grindrun pauses for a long second, but does not respond.
You say, 'What part am I to play next in the attack?'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'I'm afraid you won't be.'
You say, 'Wait what?'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Your actions were invaluable to bring us to this point, but you have to much attention drawn to you right now. The Newport guard and Silvercrown soldiers actively hunt for you now. For the good of the Cult and the upcoming attack, we need you to draw them as far away from here as possible.'
You say, 'So I cannot participate in the attack?'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Not directly. But your continued support will be invaluable. And my vision...'
You say, 'What about it?'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'You have a huge role yet to play, and it is only by traveling to the far north, that it will be realized. I have already sent up a message to our northern agent, Afaven, in the Faentharc woods. He'll direct you further. But show him this, so he knows who you are. It is a symbol of your work with Entropy.'
You receive Voice's Scar of Gradalsh from Decay Lord Grindrun.
You gain 25,000 experience!!
Your journal has been updated. [A Plague for all Seasons]
Journal Text: A liability... I can't help but feel that I am now considered expendable to the Cult's aims. No matter. I will speak to Afaven in Faentharc, and continue to spread chaos to the north country.
You say, 'But you will need me for the attack!'
Decay Lord Grindrun says, 'Perhaps, but we cannot afford to have you. Trust in my vision. You will be just as useful, if not more so, up north. And the guards that will be dispatched to follow you, are guards that will not resist us.'
Find Afaven (Faentharc Woods at 99, -926, 109 • South shore of the lake) .
You say, 'Hail, Afaven'
Afaven says, 'I didn't expect you to be the one Grindrun would send up to me.'
You say, 'Then you received a message from him?'
Afaven nods. 'It seems you caused a lot of damage in Newport. I wish I could have seen it.'
You say, 'Why are you stationed up here?'
Afaven sighs. 'I had a mission to run, and a treasure to find... but one has made the other impossible to take advantage of.'
You say, 'You were here on a treasure hunt?'
Afaven grins. 'Well it sounds bad when you said it like that, but yes. In a manner of speaking. I was seeking out the stash of a now deceased cultist.'
You say, 'Getting the treasure ruined your mission?'
Afaven frowns at you. 'No. Not at all. The other way around in fact.'
You say, 'Oh, so doing the mission ruined the treasure?
Afaven nods. 'I would have phrased it better, but yes. I became too notorious in Halas to be able to act on what I found. I can't enter there. To think Emma would be my undoing again.'
You say, 'Who is Emma?'
Afaven smiles fondly. 'A former member. But we'll get into that later. Right now you have a job to do.'
You say, 'What are my new orders?'
Afaven says, 'To finish what others have started. You are to puruse the writings of a journal I shall direct you towards. Then it gets complicated.'
You say, 'Well first things first then. Where is this journal.'
Afaven says, 'It is, of course, the treasure I mentioned earlier. I had just found it, but the huntsmen from Halas caught up to me. Damn Emma! But I digress. I was able to rehide the treasure before they found it. You will need to retrieve the treasure, and its contents, and bring it back here. I shall further instruct you then. I left the stash in the Geonid caverns. I broke one of the vials in my haste however... don't expect even the Geonids to be unaffected by that one.'
You say, 'I shall handle that as well, but what of this Emma. What happened in Halas?'
Afaven says, 'Emma recognized me. She is an Erudite female, living amonst the Barbarians of Halas. She left the service of Entropy years ago, and fled. We were unable to locate her. When she noticed me mucking around town, she called the guards on me.'
You say, 'Is revenge needed? She does not know me, I could get close.'
Afaven says, 'No. She is of more use to us alive. If she can be properly controlled.'
You say, 'Explain yourself.'
Afaven says, 'Have you ever broken somebody, <Player Name>? Manipulated and used them until there is nothing left? Scarred them for ever. Changed them... I am talking about warping them on a fundamental level, and just enjoying the results?'
You say, 'I don't believe I have.'
Afaven says, 'I've read the journal I've sent you after. It is an integral part to what is written. You need to create a victim like I described. You'll need Emma for this.'
You say, 'I see. How can I get her to cooperate? She clearly left the Cult on unhappy terms.'
Afaven says, 'Take this. It was my attempt at the disease described in the journal. It failed, but is still potent. Be very careful with it, it will lead to death, guaranteed, but not right away. Find Emma, and use it on her. Tell her she will die, horribly. This disease rots from the outside in. First sores will begin to form and fester. When they pop, you know it has gotten a hold. The veins will become black, and her blood will flow like molasses. Her eyes will bleed, and her finger nails will fall off. She will begin to bloat, and then her organs will rupture.'
You say, 'Quite a terrible fate. Is there a cure?'
Afaven says, 'You'll certainly tell her there is. Use your judgment. You'll be on your own for quite a bit. If you have concerns bring them to me.'
You receive Afaven's Failed Experiment from Afaven
You say, 'Ok, so two things to do. One, unbury this loot of yours and do as it says. Two, get to Halas and seek out Emma?'
Afaven says, 'In a nut shell yes. Feel free to start with either, but know both must eventually be completed.'
