Meeting High Warden Ansaag

Note: Some of the following dialogue may vary according to the [D1], [D2], etc. options you select.

Find a burning spirit (Tower of Tarhyl  at 200, 235, -540  • Zone Entry)

You say, 'Hail, a burning spirit'
The fire spirit doesn't speak--his words burn directly into your mind, 'A follower... you are quite brazen to come here unproven.'
You say, 'I come seeking power. Take me to Tarhyl, that I may petition my desires to him directly.'
The fire spirit shakes a bit, perhaps laughter? 'You shall never see the Master. You are not worthy. I will take you to the lobby if you so desire, but that is all one such as you deserves.'
You say, 'Very well spirit, take me to the lobby.'
The fire spirit shrugs, 'Very well. Ansaag will have fun with you.'
A searing pain burns through your skull as your surroundings fade to black.

The player is teleported to another part of the zone and must locate High Warden Ansaag (Tower of Tarhyl  • Lobby) .

Note: Although there appear to be many paths to the following dialogue, none seem to yield any CHAOTIC or EVIL alignment bonuses.
You say, 'Hail, High Warden Ansaag'
High Warden Ansaag ignores your hails.
You say, 'I said, Hail High Warden Ansaag.'
High Warden Ansaag ignores your hails.
You say, 'Don't ignore me! Do you know who I am?'
High Warden Ansaag glares at you. 'No. I've never heard of you. Do you know who I am?'
You say, 'Do I look like I care?'
High Warden Ansaag shouts, 'Impudent mortal! Do you not understand that you are nothing to the immortal flame? The least of us could destroy your entire race. You have been granted a great boon in being allowed to serve Tarhyl and you presume-'
You say, 'YOU SHUT YOUR TRAP AND LISTEN TO ME.'
High Warden Ansaag shouts, 'Wretched fleshing! You shall rue the day you decided to cross me! I shall not stand by while-'
You say, 'Take me to Tarhyl NOW, and maybe I'll forget these insults you are throwing my way.'
High Warden Ansaag just stops and stares blankly at you. 'Are... are you serious? Why in the world would you- Why would Lord Tarhyl want too- I- you can't be serious. No mortal is this presumptuous.'
You say, 'Why I wish to see him is none of your concern. Take me to him!'
High Warden Ansaag says, 'No.'
You say, 'No? What do you mean no?'
High Warden Ansaag says, 'Just that. You don't understand what it means to serve the Lord Tarhyl. You do not simply waltz into his chamber on your whim. You must prove yourself, something you will clearly never accomplish.'
You say, 'I am more than worthy.'
High Warden Ansaag laughs. 'Ok, 'worthy', listen to this then. After years of true service against our enemies, Fendrik the Destroyer will be presented with the Sacred Spear of Tarhyl, the ceremonial artifact of Tarhyl. He will march from the Red Sun Peaks and rekindle its flame in the blazing inferno of the Emberflow, and be granted a boon from our Lord Tarhyl. This is a grand honor, one that you cannot understand.
You say, 'Ok.... and you are telling me this because?'
High Warden Ansaag smiles cruelly. 'Because Fendrik could use a couple more servants for his ceremony. If you ever wish to show your face in this tower again, go to Fendrik and assist a true servant of the Flame Lord in whatever he desires. Maybe in a few decades you'll be ready to return to me, but I doubt it.'

Your journal has been updated. [Flames of Vengeance and Strife]

Journal Text: The High Warden refuses to admit me to see Lord Tarhyl. He will be the first to die. But for now he wishes me to visit this Fendrik in Red Sun Peaks, and assist in a ceremony. I'm loath to attend, but perhaps something useful can be learned.

Aiding Fendrik

Find Fendrik, Champion of Tarhyl (Red Sun Peaks  at 56, 522  • By a small lava pool) and complete his quest, then return to High Warden Ansaag.

You say, 'Hail, High Warden Ansaag'
High Warden Ansaag says, 'Something is wrong... what has happened <Player Name>? Why are you alone. Where is the spear?'
You say, '[Tell him what happened.]'
High Warden Ansaag shouts, 'You worthless, craven, flesh sack! How dare you show your face! I should strike you down here, and burn your soul for eternity! Banished! Banished! Leave this tower and never return! You are hereby branded a coward and an exile! If you ever show yourself here again, you shall be executed!'

You receive Brand of the Dishonored from High Warden Ansaag.

You say, 'It was not my fault!'
High Warden Ansaag says, 'It is entirely your fault! What servant of fire runs from an emissary of Shojar? You are an embarrassment to us all!'
You say, 'Where will I go? What will I do?'
High Warden Ansaag says, 'I care not! Smolder in obscurity with the other outcasts in Azzerach. It truly matters not to me.'

Your journal has been updated. [Flames of Vengeance and Strife]

Journal Text: I... I am banished... never again may I enter the Tower of Tarhyl, or I face death. I have no choice but to take refuge amongst the rest of Tarhyls unwanted, in the city of Azzerach.
Note: You are now "banished" from Tower of Tarhyl. When you next return to the zone, a burning spirit will scoff at you and deem you unworthy of entering the Tower. However, High Warden Ansaag has given you a destination: Azzerach, the Forsaken Realm...
