Although I've never been a huge contributor to the wiki, I recently wrote a little web app that lets people easily get the wiki markup necessary to enter an item into the wiki. It can be found here.
I am not too terribly pro when it comes to using the wiki, so feel free to let me know if I'm doing something wrong. More importantly, let me know if my web app is doing something wrong.
Recently, I've changed it to include item icons and also to add Category: Slot Class for every class when an item is usable to for all classes (as opposed to Slot ALL).
