Find Caelves (Eastern Plaguelands  at -1875, -297, 3  • In the the tunnel to the Northern Wastes of Tarhyl)

You say, 'Hail, Caelves'
Caelves says, 'Don't sneak up on me like that!'
You say, 'I didn't mean to startle you, what's wrong?'
Caelves says, 'I have heard the cries of a beast and it has stricken me to my very core.'
You say, 'What beast?'
Caelves says, 'I do not know, nor do I wish to find out!'
Caelves huddles behind the crates, unwilling to recall his experience.

Find Leader Dannisin (Eastern Plaguelands  at -1522, -118  • In the the tunnel to the Northern Wastes of Tarhyl)

You say, 'Hail, Leader Dannisin'
Leader Dannisin says, 'Hail, traveler, and welcome to our camp. We call ourselves the Survivors, those who have not succumbed entirely to the plague that holds this once blossoming land in its grip. Though it may have rotted our bodies away, our minds remain sound, and from here we watch over the poor tormented creatures that live in this land and seek a way to end the plague. Feel free to share our shelter. Mesklin over there can provide you with provisions if you need.'
You say, 'I have spoken with your man Caelves. He was frightened nearly out of his wits.'
Leader Dannisin says, 'Ah the poor lad, I know not what he heard while fishing to the north, but clearly it has rattled his mind.'
You say, 'Are you not afraid of what it may be?'
Leader Dannisin says, 'There are many things that frighten me adventurer, but I cannot concern myself with one I know nothing about. If you believe there is something to it, perhaps you could explore Caelves's fishing spot to learn more about the shriek that has reduced him to such a pitiful state. In truth I believe it is merely his mind playing tricks on him.'
You say, 'Uh...sure. I guess I can.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

Leader Dannisin doesn't think much of Caelves's ramblings, but has said I am welcome to explore his fishing spot for myself.

Go North to water...

Dear gods, you hear it! The unearthly shriek coming from the north raises every hair on your body. It is so clearly not of this world that it makes you long to be a child in your mother's soothing embrace.

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

The beast must be real. I should return to Dannisin and tell him Caelves is not out of his mind, unless I am as well.

Find Leader Dannisin (Eastern Plaguelands  at -1522, -118  • In the the tunnel to the Northern Wastes of Tarhyl)

You say, 'I have heard the cry, a sound full of despair and anger that could only come from a creature not entirely of our world. In all my travels I have never heard its like.'
Leader Dannisin says, 'A new beast stirring in those woods can only mean further anguish for my people. We are stretched so thin as it is that I do not have the resources to dedicate to anything new. Perhaps you could take it upon yourself to research this further? If you could identify where the noise emanates from that would be a great help.'
You say, 'Very well, though I hope you realize this might mean my death.'
Leader Dannisin says, 'This is a risk I am willing to take.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

I have been tasked with finding the location of the cries emanating from the woods to the north.

Go North, then East...

The roar is louder and definitely echoes from deep within these ruins. It sounds vaguely akin to the roars of the dragon outside, but so grotesque it seems a perversion.

Somehow, something stirs in the Ruins of Nagthilian. This must be a very a bad sign.

Find Leader Dannisin (Eastern Plaguelands  at -1522, -118  • In the the tunnel to the Northern Wastes of Tarhyl)

You say, 'This cannot be good. It sounds like a dragon stirs in what remains of Nagthilian.'
Leader Dannisin's eyebrows furrow.
Leader Dannisin says, 'How is that possible? The curse on that city has left nothing alive, nor has anything taken residence in all the years since. The mist that remains kills anything it touches.'
You say, 'Oddly, it sounds a great deal like Traekoth. Do you know anything of his origins?'
Leader Dannisin says, 'That is outside of my knowledge, adventurer, nor do I know one who could answer that question....save Traekoth himself.'
You say, 'You...want me to talk to Traekoth?! I'm pretty sure that isn't going to happen.'
Leader Dannisin says, 'You are correct, he is unlikely to exchange words with you looking like that. Clearly you will need a disguise.'
Leader Dannisin ponders Dannisin's words.
Leader Dannisin says, 'I'm not certain it is possible, but if anyone could concoct something it would be that troll alchemist.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

Dannisin must be insane. He wants me to find a troll to create a disguise allowing me to talk to Traekoth the Ancient.

Master Alchemist Baruksays, 'You iz funny, <Player Name> I can not make youz a dragun. Well, maybe dat not all de way true.'

You say, 'I think that would do the trick. What do I need?'
Master Alchemist Baruk says, 'Hmm, we starts with making um...drake essence. We do small and werkz our way up. You get me scalez and we see if dat might work.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

Baruk has asked me to get drake scales to make me the potion I desire.

Master Alchemist Baruk says, 'Yes dis will werk. But we needz more tingz. You get sum stabilizor, sum uh....charming oil and a curse that burnz. Make it go eezee.'

You receive Enchanted Drakeling Brew.

Master Alchemist Baruk returned Stabilizer to you.

Here goes nothing. Hopefully this potion will give me the disguise I need.

Find Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant (unknown zone  • unknown loc)

As you approach this area, you notice, just barely, a well-concealed drake.

You say, 'Hail, Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant'
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'What do you want? Surely you must be aware Traekoth is no fan of visitors. Whatever you want, you had best make it quick before he decides your company has gone from undesirable to unbearable.'
You say, 'Sorry to have disturbed you, but I have heard rumors of a new dragon in this area and need a report to bring my superiors.'
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'Hmmpf. I care nothing for what your superiors desire, but so that you will leave more quickly, I will tell you what I know. There are no new dragons, only the ones that have been here for a long time.'
You say, 'Ones...ah ha, plural! So there is more than just Traekoth here?'
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant's eyes narrow, you think.
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'Yes, there is another, but I would think you'd have a hard time communicating with him.'
You say, 'What can you tell me about him?'
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant pauses, and you catch him glancing to the West.
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'If I tell you, do you promise to leave and never bother us again?'
You say, 'I swear it.'
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'Very well... Long ago the ones known as dark elves took the eggs of Traekoth's unborn young. His fury knew no bounds, and he planned to retrieve what they stole and then demolish their city for the transgression. '
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'Traekoth's revenge and children were stolen by Baldakos, one of their kind who betrayed them. He slew all who resided there with some powerful weapon. His pitiless attack he left behind a mist that to this day blankets the city and kills any being it comes in contact with.'
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'Traekoth feared the eggs had been destroyed in the wake of the assault. Occasionally we would hear a cry coming from the depths of the dark elf ruins. It wasn't until recently that he identified the sound as similar to his own.'
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant pauses, you can surmise he doesn't wish to talk much longer on this subject.
Ektar, Traekoth`s Assistant says, 'That is when he discovered one of the eggs had survived. The tortured screams of his young drove Traekoth to investigate. When the child briefly exited the mist he did not recognize his own father. As his lost child flew off to the west, he wondered aloud to me if it might be better to put the youngling out of his misery if he could not be saved. This is all I will say on the matter, as it has left my friend quite bereft.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

I have identified the source of the dragon's roar. I should tell Dannisin about it.

Find Leader Dannisin (Eastern Plaguelands  at -1522, -118  • In the the tunnel to the Northern Wastes of Tarhyl)

You say, 'So, you know that dragon, Traekoth?'
Leader Dannisin says, 'I am aware of him, yes.'
You say, 'He had a little one who had somehow been residing in Nagthilian. It recently flew to the west.'
Leader Dannisin says, 'I wonder what would draw him to the west. You should investigate further.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

Go West...

There is no mistaking it, the cry you hear is the same one you heard in The Darkwoods.

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

The dragon has relocated itself in the Whisperling Forest. I can see why he was drawn here.

Find Leader Dannisin (Eastern Plaguelands  at -1522, -118  • In the the tunnel to the Northern Wastes of Tarhyl)

You say, 'I found what drew him to the West. He has moved into the forest north of Rivervale.'
Leader Dannisin says, 'How is that even possible....you say he is a creature that has survived the mists? You should investigate this further and bring attention to the Seekers. If anyone can unravel this mystery, it would be them.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

Dannisin has suggested I talk to the Seekers of Erimal.

Find Lady Shaina (Valley of Erimal  at 808, 839, -23  • Erimal, top floor of Sanctuary, south west building)

You say, 'I have encountered an oddity I hoped you might know more about.'
Lady Shaina says, 'Tell me more,<Player Name>. Perhaps I have the answers you seek.'
You say, 'I have reason to believe there is a dragon that has managed to live within the mists of Nagthilian and is now residing in The Whisperling Forest.'
Lady Shaina says, 'If what you say is true it would be unprecedented. I have yet to hear of anyone other than Kaezul's minions who are able to exist within its power. I have to wonder if the mist has taken on new properties in the time it has resided in the fallen city... Perhaps with the help of the refuges in Ikisith you can figure this out.'
You say, 'Very well, I shall do so.'
Lady Shaina says, 'Oh and <Player Name>. If you find out anything, let me know. Any information we can gather about the Mist can only help us in the battle against Kaezul.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

Lady Shaina believes I can find answers about the mist and the dragon in the rebel camp in Ikisith.

Find Caretaker Kazfin (Dreadlands  at 1090, 9378, 1068  • Refuge)

You say, 'I have a Mist problem, perhaps you could help?'
Caretaker Kazfin looks around.
Caretaker Kazfin says, 'Shh, don't alarm my students with talk of such things! What is this about?'
You say, 'I am trying to find a dragon that has survived within the Mist of Nagthilian, the former city of those taking residence in Prophet's Landing.'
Caretaker Kazfin says, 'That sounds extremely far fetched, but I must admit to being intrigued. What is it you want, exactly?'
You say, 'I would like to deal with this dragon myself, but obviously there is the whole unearthly mist thing going on.'
Caretaker Kazfin says, 'That is quite the dilemma. Can you tell me a bit more about the history of this place? I do not pretend to be an expert of the land from which you hail.'
You say, '-Explain the history of Nagthilian and Rivervale-'
Caretaker Kazfin listens intently.
Caretaker Kazfin says, 'Bring me some soil from Rivervale. I need to be able to study this place a bit more. If you are lucky, I'll be able to find something to work with.'

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

Caretaker Kazfin has asked to retrieve some soil from Rivervale.

Gather and Give Writhing Flesh-Like Crops to Caretaker Kazfin (Dreadlands  at 1090, 9378, 1068  • Refuge)

Caretaker Kazfin says, 'So this is from that Rivervale place? Go away and let me run some experiments.'

Wait till he comes back...

You say, 'Hail, Caretaker Kazfin'
Caretaker Kazfin says, 'This specimen you brought has supplied some interesting facts about its origin. Remnants of Mist attached made me curious to as to how Baldakos was able to wield it. I have a feeling it was specifically designed to ignore him as a target. If you were able to get near him and harness some of his spirit, it might be possible to figure out how the dragon is interacting with the Mist. Take this. Should you manage to get close to him it should allow you to siphon some of his spirit. Be warned, legend portrays him as a genuinely dangerous man.'

You receive Spirit Catcher.

Your journal has been updated. [Unknown Cries]

I need to get close to a monster of legend, Baldakos the Betrayer. If he was able to take out an entire city with a weapon, what chance do I have to get close?
