Tomes in Character Comparisons
From SoDWiki
Jump to navigationJump to searchThis articles purpose is to help people doing Character comparisons based on Fomelo by explaining how to math in tomes.
Stat Tomes
- Tome of Enhanced Agility I, II, Opus I
- Only count if the (buffed) Agility is >485, and then only to the (buffed) score or 485 + (Tomerank * 10), whichever is lower.
- Tome of Enhanced Dexterity I, II, Opus I
- Only count if the (buffed) Dexterity is >485, and then only to the (buffed) score or 485 + (Tomerank * 10), whichever is lower.
- Tome of Enhanced Strength I, II, Opus I
- Only count if the (buffed) Strength is >485, and then only to the (buffed) score or 485 + (Tomerank * 10), whichever is lower.
- Tome of Enhanced Stamina I, II, Opus I
- Only count if the (buffed) Stamina is >485, and then only to the (buffed) score or 485 + (Tomerank * 10), whichever is lower.
- Tome of Enhanced Charisma I, II, Opus I
- Only count if the (buffed) Charisma is >485, and then only to the (buffed) score or 485 + (Tomerank * 10), whichever is lower.
- Tome of Racing Thoughts I, II, Opus I
- Only count if the character actually has enough worn FT to make use from the cap increase. Fomelo now shows the amount of actually working FT, so no more calculations are needed for these tomes.
- Tome of the Mind I, II, Opus I
- Only count if the (buffed) Intelligence/Wisdom is >355 (priests/casters) or >305 (melee/hybrid), and then only to the (buffed) score or 355/305 + (Tomerank * 20), whichever is lower.
In any of these cases, use the resulting value for comparisons.
Resist Tomes
- Tome of Bodily Resistance I, II, III and Tome of Elemental Resistance I, II, III
- Each increase their respective resists by 3 points per tome rank. For resist comparisons, add (Tomerank * 3) to the value displayed on fomelo, and use the resulting value for comparisons.
- Tome of Magical Resistance I
- Increase magic resistance by 4 points per tome rank. For resist comparisons, add (Tomerank * 4) to the value displayed on fomelo, and use the resulting value for comparisons.
Elemental Damage Tomes
- Tome of Frost Mastery I, II, Opus I
- Increases the damage of any cold spells by 2% per tome rank. To calculate the cold focus of a character, add his cold focus from items and his cold focus from tomes and use the resulting value for comparisons. (ex: a character with the Shojar's Cruelty focus effect (6%) and a finished Tome of Frost Mastery I (2%) has a total cold focus of 8%.)
- Tome of Flame Mastery I, II, Opus I
- Increases the damage of any fire spells by 2% per tome rank. To calculate the fire focus of a character, add his fire focus from items and his fire focus from tomes and use the resulting value for comparisons. (ex: a character with the Tarhyl's Rage focus effect (6%) and a finished Tome of Flame Mastery I (2%) has a total fire focus of 8%.)
- Tome of Infection Mastery I, II, Opus I
- Increases the damage of any poison and diseases spells by 2% per tome rank. To calculate the poison focus of a character, add his poison focus from items and his poison focus from tomes and use the resulting value for comparisons. (ex: a character with the Sivyana's Malice focus effect (6%) and a finished Tome of Infection Mastery I (2%) has a total poison focus of 8%.) To calculate the disease focus of a character, add his disease focus from items and his disease focus from tomes and use the resulting value for comparisons. (ex: a character with the Gradalsh's Brutality focus effect (6%) and a finished Tome of Infection Mastery I (2%) has a total disease focus of 8%.)
- Tome of Magic Mastery I, II, Opus I
- Increases the damage of any magic spells by 2% per tome rank. To calculate the magic focus of a character, add his magic focus from items and his magic focus from tomes and use the resulting value for comparisons. (ex: a character with the Jayla's Impact focus effect (6%) and a finished Tome of Magic Mastery I (2%) has a total magic focus of 8%.)
Advanced Item Effect Tomes
- Tome of Striking I, II, Opus I
- Increases the chance to score a critical hit in melee. To calculate the total chance to score a critical hit in melee, add the Critical Strike Value (max 10%) to the number of finished crit strike tomes and use the resulting value for comparisons.
- Compendium of Aggressive Stances
- A flat out increase of 5% to all Aggression generated. For any comparisons of Aggression modification item effects, add 5% to the Aggression value displayed on fomelo (max +/-10%) and use the resulting value.
- Compendium of Passive Stances
- A flat out decrease of 5% to all Aggression generated. For any comparisons of Aggression modification item effects, subtract 5% from the Aggression value displayed on fomelo (max +/-10%) and use the resulting value.
Critical Spell Effects Tomes
- Tome of Critical Evocation I, II, Opus I
- Increases the chance to score a critical hit with a spell. Tome of the Mind I and its follow-ups do the same, as long as the INT score of a character is at least 355 + (Tomerank * 20). To calculate the total chance to score a critical hit with a spell, add the crit strike chance from the Charm to the number of finished crit strike tomes and the number of finished tomes from the Tome of the Mind line, as long as the INT score is high enough to put them to use, and use the resulting value for comparisons.
- Tome of Exceptional Healing I, II, Opus I
- Increases the chance to score a critical heal. Tome of the Mind I and its follow-ups do the same, as long as the WIS score of a character is at least 355 + (Tomerank * 20). To calculate the total chance to score a critical heal, add the crit heal chance from the Charm to the number of finished crit heal tomes and the number of finished tomes from the Tome of the Mind line, as long as the WIS score is high enough to put them to use, and use the resulting value for comparisons.
Other Tomes
Tomes that do not increase an ability/stat already acquired by any other means need a special case-by-case consideration.
