The War
A war occurs when the Legions of Kaezul come to invade Dalayan territory. The attacks are a random script, although they can be triggered by a GM if one is bored enough.
Recommended level to fight in the war is 55+, minimum (60+ is probably better). If you die in the war, you will receive Death Fatigue (Event) rather than standard Death Fatigue. This version of DF lasts 15 minutes instead of 5. You CAN be rezzed with this death fatigue on, but you'll be somewhat useless for awhile. There is no exp debt if you get killed in the war, so rezzing back would be for convenience only.
In the Valley of Erimal, there has been a recent addition of refugees and some other NPCs. One of them does offer a small reward for turning in weapons from the Kaezulian armies.

There are two types of war, Defending and Reacquiring.
Defending
The initial part of a war is the defense. The Legions of Kaezul will enter an area and a raid of characters must try to defend that area, or else it will be overrun and all non-kaezulian npcs will be killed and the zone will be unusable for quests until the kaezulians are thwarted. There are only 4 possible zones that they begin with, based on the lore that Kaezul has taken control of 4 old portals. Those zones are Faentharc Woods, Cauldron of Dawn, Lake Starfall, and Northern Wastes of Tarhyl.
The attack comes in waves, typically a few dozen foot soldiers that are light blue to level 65s along with a couple dark blue soldiers, and one or two golems/imps. Every time you kill a Kaezulian, you have a chance to spawn a random named mob. Light blue mobs only spawn light blue nameds, dark blue mobs and golems only spawn dark blue nameds. There are many waves that come, there doesn't seem to be an exact amount of waves that enters the zone but it appears to be between eight and twelve waves. Once all the waves are defeated a global message will be sent out that the area has been freed from the Legions of Kaezul. Rarely, a red con Kaezulian will show up at the very end and must be defeated. This does not always happen though.
If the raid is unsuccessful, not only will the zone they initially entered be taken over, but then the army begins to move and will enter a neighboring zone and the process repeats until a zone is successful in defeating an invasion, or all invasions are successful and a major city is taken over. A Starfall take over will spread across the Badlands, a Faentharc take over will spread to Everfrost with intent to take Newport, a Cauldron take over spreads to Goblinskull and heads to Athica, and a North Tarhyl take over spreads across the deserts.
Reacquiring
Once a zone has fallen to the Legion of Kaezul, all the normal mobs in the zone are replaced by Kaezulians spread out tactically. At this point it is possible to make an organized raiding party to take out the Kaezulian troops, as they only bunch themselves up into small groups.
Although most zones are easier to retake than defend, it's actually far harder to retake Lake Starfall than it is to defend it. This is due to a particularly brutal spawn on the MoP island which consists of over 50 mobs. They aren't linked, but they are situated in such a way that they aggro in a chain and it's impossible not to pull the entire tower at once. It can take longer to clear the tower than the rest of the zone and as such, Starfall has a bad habit of staying captured for much longer than any other zone.
Once every mob in the zone is dead, there will be a server wide message saying that the zone was retaken and is now safe. Unfortunately, it's somewhat popular to leave a single spawn of Kaezulians up which will cause all of the troops to respawn in about a day. This is because it's far easier to get named drops while reacquiring a zone than it is to get them while defending, even though the nameds are less common. Allowing a zone to stay captured for the purposes of farming will not endear you to the rest of the server though.
