This mob does not play around. Mad dps and a lot of hp. Much harder than Windhag and Huntfang!

This mob does indeed not play around. hits for 80's procs a plague, and some other curse type thing(wasnt tanking not sure exactly what it was, seemed like a dot) Best way to attempt this mob is have your tank spam run towards the shore(he will chain summon but you will get there eventually) this will avoid many adds that would wander by throughout the fight. This guy is a beast, basicaly keep him slowed, keep your tank up, and dps as fast as you can. no ae's or anything special, just keep tank up, dps down for the win. (we also did him at nighttime, he could be a bit easier during the day, im not completely sure)<Steel>

We did her just like this: we pulled to the shore to avoid Adds, and had clerics keep up the SK. at start, he does mad dps with his dot/lifetaps, but when he gets lowermana, he starts to get down on the HP. past that point is just keep the dps and clerics with mana. rotation the cleric, while 1 keep healing, others meditate. Altho a really scary fight =) really fun.

Killed After 2.0 Change (12 man max engage): Setup was 22 clr/21 druid/24 shm/21 ench/25 ranger/25 wiz/25 sk/21 BL/22 necro/21 pal so 9 or 10 of us total. Wasnt an easy fight, we wiped first time b/c shm got wrecked b4 he even got a heal off. 2nd time the ranger tanking made a B-line for the shore where everyone was sitting. Ench tashed, Shm slowed. Pal being in grouped helped b/c of cleansing hits (criticals), we also killed during the daytime. Was a tough fight, ranger tanking ended up dying at end but mob was too low to kill anyone else. To be honest I wouldnt say he is harder then wind hag. We both had 2 or 3 people die when we killed them.

UPDATE: 7/5 Just did this guy. Thought he was gonna be way harder. We started by pulling him toshore, to avoid some adds, but still got a few neways. He started by stripping some of our buffs. At the end he stripped alot of our tanks buffs. In the beginning he was doing about 30 per hit. tank was avoidng everything and wasnt even getting below 95%. At the end he was landing everything and what not. but still got him and was way easier then expected. Did with 2 clerics, 1 war, 1monk 1ench, 1 wiz. -Wrenzana

UPDATE: 7/31/07 Defeated with a raid of 9 people - however, one cleric was bugged and couldnt heal, so it was 8. 25 clr, 25 wiz, 24 monk, 23 pally, 22 clr, 21 sk, 20 clr, 20 war. after clearing adds, pally pulled to shore and buffed with 1.1k hp/540 ac. was easy to hold aggro with 3% aggression mod, taunt, Guarding Blade Stance, and after landing three flashes of light (resisted a LOT though, with around 120 cha on my part). i spammed FoL until around 70. we split clerics into 2 and 2 (although one couldnt heal, we found out) so one group healed while the other rested. i had none of my buffs stripped during the entire fight. i had to use LoH in the end, and was OOM after spending 640 mana on FoL and heals, and all the clerics were OOM as well. no one was twinked except for the 20 warrior, although i did pass around +20 stat potions. all in all, i would say that the OOM clerics were due to a lack of DPS, and in reality we could have traded out a cleric for a good melee...get another pally in there with a good fast weapon, and he'll wreak havoc with cleansing blows. -Ciradhos Indoriath

      • note: we were idiots for putting 4 clerics in the raid. max # of one class is 3, of course. d'oh.

UPDATE: 10/14/07
Defeated Spectral Hunter with a group of 4 toons - war, bard, cleric (bot), druid (bot), all level 25. All toons parked near Oasis zoneline to avoid adds during fight, druid used charm pet to pull Spectral Hunter to camp so nobody gets hurt during pull. Spectral Hunter is like upper tier raid mobs in "the game", with increase DPS under a certain percentage of health. DPS can slow down on initial engage to conserve mana, once Spectral gets down to 90%, he will start chain life tap, DPS drop him to 80% quickly and he will resume melee only with no lifetap procs. Spectral Hunter procs tap during the following health percentage: (best possible estimate) 90% to 80%, 70% to 60%, 50% to 40%, 30% to 15%. Conserve mana and nuke him / offensive disc during these periods to minimize the chance he procs taps. Fun fight, finished it with both healerbots at around 20m.
