Silver Crown Faction Quest Sergeant to Trader

Corporal Genein is located in the North West corner of Western Badlands. Once you have been awarded the rank of Sergeant Hail him.

You Say, "Hail Corporal Genein"

Corporal Genein says, "Greetings, Sergeant. What can I do for you?" - I am looking for tasks to do

You say, "I am looking for tasks to do"

Corporal Genein says, "Aye. I could use your help, Sergeant. I thought the cyclopeans in the Gorge of the One-Eye were dealt with, but it seems hat our attacks on them have provoked the elders of their kind, and they have become more aggressive than ever. These elders are the backbone of their peopl, and if their numbers were to be significantly reduced, it would cripple them. Kill the elders and bring me their staves as proof, Sergeant. I'm relying on you for this."

Turn Ins (first 4)

Corporal Genein says, "Splendid work! The less of these leders around the better. If you happen to bring down any more cyclopeans, you know where to bring their clubs." You Gain Faction Experience!!

Turn in (#5)

Corporal Genein says, "Splendid work! This should do the trick, the loss of so many elders is a crippling blow to the cyclopeans. They should be unwilling to interfere with any future operations now." You Gain Faction Experience!!

You say, "I am looking for tasks to do"

Corporal Gennin says, "You've already handled all the tasks I had for you, Sergeant. I don't think there's anything else for you at this Enclave."

Walkthrough

This is fully off the top of my head, because none of the silver crown people will talk to me about their quests anymore because I'm past them in rank. Second, I was one of the first people to get this aug, so they might have changed some of the things. Third, since I was one of the first, the details are a little hazy.

With that said, I DO remember a lot of the things that I did to get to Trader, so here's my step by step, to the best of my knowledge.

Everfrost is best to start with, because all the quests are sort of near each other. The camp is located in the center of the map. From Blackburrow, go through the fjords until you get to the plains. Immediately take a left once you get to the open area, and the camp is located in a little bubble near the cliff faces. Talk to High Trader Dreina first, and she'll tell you to get ally with the othmir, the weird platypus type guys that inhabit Cobalt Scar/Wyvernfang Coast. She sends you to Mystic Techek with a Token of Alliance, which you're supposed to give to him once you reach ally. He tells you a long-winded story about the Brugwar. Basically, kill the brughwar in Siren's Grotto until it says that your faction with the othmir can't get any better, then start handing in brughwar claws. In my experience, the higher level guys don't seem to drop the claws more than the little ones, so it's not really that adventageous to go right for the harder ones first. I forget exactly how many claws it took me, but 60 is a good number to shoot for.

After you get ally, give him the token of alliance and return to High Trader Dreina.

Next to her in one of the igloos is High Trader Jildo. He wants you to map some features of the north. He gives you "Jildo's Notebook" and 4 blank pieces of parchment in which to draw your maps on. In the notebook it tells you exactly where to go. All you have to do is run around until the server gives you a message of "You have mapped a part of the zone." It's a very good idea to have Spirit of Eagle, because you'll be doing a lot of running. The zones he wants you to travel to are Eastern Wastes, Frosthorn, Great Divide, and Wyvernfang. I don't remember all the locations, but I did it in about an hour with Kade porting me around. There are four points in each zone to map out, and once you complete a map of a zone, the blank parchment turns into a completed map, which looks like an ordinary treasure map. Turn all 4 maps into Jildo at once.

After that, go to Sergeant Feveg, who will tell you about the gemathian caves and a bunch of superfluous bullshit that's unimportant. The jist of this is that you kill one gemathian, you get one heartstone. Get about 75 of them and you'll be all set. If it takes more than that, just give them to him until he's happy.

After that, you SHOULD be promoted from Soldier to Corporal after talking to the High Trader. If not, then head to Western Badlands, and you'll get it.

Getting to Sergeant was a lot harder than corporal, so be prepared for a lot of faction camping.

Western Badlands should have a camp in the northwest part of the zone. This part I'm not too sure of, but I know a lot of it.

Talk to Trader Togun first, and she will send you to get ally with either the Centaurs and the Kargyxx. I'd recommend starting off with the Kargyxx, as they take the most time. She will present you with two more tokens of alliance, which you're to give to Mazik Windweaver and Helleron of the Plains once you get ally with them.

The Kargyxx are arguably the hardest to get ally with, simply because you are supposed to kill Tarxans in Lake Starfall, collect their beaks, and hand them into Mazik Windweaver to obtain ally. Now... He takes two at once, and you need to hand in about 12 billion in order to get ally. This part of the quest took me, with casual farming, about a month. The only reason is that they don't always drop the beaks. If you were hardcore about it, you could probably have it done in about a week. So give the beaks to the guy in the bird's nest in South Badlands, and then start with the centaurs.

Getting ally to centaurs is pretty easy. You don't have to speak to Helleron of the plains until you do your turn ins, but he tells you that the corruption in the badlands has driven his people mad, and sends you off to kill corrupted centaurs and gather their manes, which you bring back to him. Unfortunately, killing the corrupted centaurs doesn't give you the boost to indifferent, so if you're dubious, you'll have to do turn ins to ally. With that said, there is a centaur city in South Badlands. It's a little blip in the northeastern part of the map, but it has a spawn of 4 centaurs that spawn about every 15 minutes. They usually drop manes, but sometimes they don't, but it only takes about 40 manes to get to ally. Average time it took me: ~30 minutes.

After you're done with this debacle, go talk to Trader Vonya. She'll send you off to Southern Badlands to escort a member of the silver crown to the Bird's Nest to talk to Mazik Windweaver. The person you are looking for is extremely hard to see, but follow the shore TO THE LEFT as soon as you come off the bridge. She's a stupid little halfling that's standing about 20 feet from the coast of the river. She needs an escort because a bunch of tarxan ambush her at several points along the way. They're greens and light blues, so you should be able to kill them without a problem. However, she walks PAINFULLY slow, and if you let her get too far away from you, the quest resets. Be careful you don't get her killed.

Go back to Western Badlands, and now talk to Corporal Genein. He will send you off to cyclops gorge to find cyclopean warrior clubs. You need 10 of them, and the warriors carry them in their hands. They're pretty easy to spot, but they're relatively rare. Give them to him, and he should give you another quest involving the Cyclopean Elder staffs. If he doesn't then this is a quest reserved for Sergeant. However, while you're in Cyclops gorge you might as well clear the elder spawns as well as the warriors and kill two birds with one stone. See if you can advance in rank, and if not travel to Faydwer.

The Faydwer quests I never really did, and the two that I remember were pretty easy. Go to Goblinskull Mountains, and on the docks where you pick up boats there is a silver crown camp. Look around a bit until you find the two traders located here. Firsts, talk to Trader Ralika, and she will tell you to go into Kaladim to retrieve smithing instructions. They drop off of everything if I remember correctly, and they're torn pages. They're pretty easy to spot. Give about 15 of them to her and you should be good to go.

Then, talk to Trader Heddick. He wants you to kill the Faydark treants and bring him bark. They're pretty rare, but drop the bark every time. Give 25 of them to him. If you're not a Sergeant by now, you will be after these turn ins. Talk to either one of the traders here, and they will make you a Sergeant. This is optional, and if you care about your alignment, it will shift you slightly towards evil. But you can figure out deity shit AFTER you do the quests, as each subsequent turn in will make you more lawful.

Now. On to Freeport. Since you just recently got promoted to Sergeant, hop on the boat to Freeport and make sure you bind there. As a monk I can't tell you how aggravating it was to have to take the boat every time I needed to do a turn in.

Here's where it gets difficult. I'd speak to Historian Thomas first. He wants you to get books from the Freeport minis: Grandmaster Tyranna (drops Teachings of Tyranna), The Arena Keeper (History of the Arena), and High Beguiler Garos (Lexicon of Garos). We can get a group together and down the three of these without too much of a problem. You can turn them in separately or together, but I'd reccomend turning them in together for consistency's sake.

Talk to Recovery Officer Janson next, and he'll tell you about certain documents. He wants you to retrieve the Freeport Constitution, among other things that I can't exactly remember. The constitution is the one that matters the most. He also gives out a quest to find item lists that are located in various locales throughout the city. One is in the bank, one is in a bar, one is in a guard house, etc. They're all in little boxes, similar looking to a treasure box. There are 4 boxes scattered around the three zones, so throw on IVU and take a look around. The Bank one is one I know for sure, but the others you shouldn't quote me on.

Disregard Trader Nilanna, she gives you the Guardsman Nametag quest, which is worthless. The nametags don't drop often enough to warrant camping them.

After you do that, talk to Derela Flamefingers, who will tell you about the Wizard guild. The text doesn't matter, but she does want you to retrieve something called "Tomes of Magic." These are just books dropped by the undead enchanters that spawn around where High Beguiler spawns. They're not too rare, but you need a lot of them. Turn in as many as you want, but there are other quests to do.

When you get tired of the Enchanter/Wizard guild, go talk to Trader Fikko in the sewer, who is past Storage Guard Turla. He's kinda hard to find, but he's behind a couple doors below Derela Flamefingers. He'll tell you to go into the temple of marr and collect little statuettes. They're little yellow things that drop off of the fallen crusaders and paladins and shit. I did an entire clear of the temple all the way up to Tas'Thox, and I got 12 of them. Apparently they're worth more faction exp than the tomes of magic, but who knows.

So AFTER all this shit is done, you have enough faction experience to go BACK to everfrost and talk to High Trader Dreina. She gives you a complicated quest involving obtaining meat. She wants you to kill Snow Griffons, Snow Rhinos, Ice Terrors, and Stormwolves. You need to obtain 5 meats each, but I'd recommend skipping the snow griffons because they're rare, and the meat is rare. She is looking for you to get "Quality Stormwolf/Rhino/Terror Parts." She also requests that you cook them in fish oils before you give them to her, but you don't have to. I would reccomend doing it, because it gives twice as much faction as not cooking them. Head to Icewell Keep, and kill the frozen terrors until you have 5 Quality Terror Parts. Head to Eastern Wastes and do the same with the Rhinos, and then to Western Wastes to kill Stormwolves.

Once you have all 15 pieces of meat, you have to skill up baking to 15. I made bread cakes, which I believe is just a water flask and some flour, which you make a ball of dough, which you then put back in the oven. You might want to spend the 2 gold on the intro to baking book.

Once you get baking to 15, go to a fishing merchant and buy 15 fish oils. Put one meat and one oil into the oven, and hit combine, and you should get a cooked piece of meat back. Repeat this 15 times and then return to High Trader Dreina. Ask to be promoted, and if you're worthy, you'll be promoted to Trader. If not, go back to Freeport and turn in more tomes of magic and the statuettes from the Temple of Marr in North Freeport.

Congratulations on your new aug!
