The symbol of a burning eye adorns this letter. The ink shifts as you read it, as though the sigil is watching you back.
Progress has been slow. The Kralaw rallied quickly after our initial onslaught, pushing us back to the entrance and cutting us off from our allies deeper ion the caverns.
As if that were not enough, something has driven the dark elf refugees out of hiding. We suspect the Kralaw, but it matters not: we find ourselves pressed on two fronts. Our position is dangerously weak.
However, there is good news: Melek Taus has arrived deep in the cavern and has taken command of out forces there. He intends to stat pressing from the other side, and between the two of us we should be able to complete a safe path to the Plane from the entrance.
He will no doubt demand additional payment for this service, but perhaps the cost can be recouped by pillaging the dark elves and the spirits haunting them. If they break themselves against us, we should be able to clean them out with little effort, perhaps even claiming the treasures they brought with them as they fled the city.
