Elthannar Bloodlines/Text
This book appears to tell the recent history of the Elthannar family, as written by the undead scribe you took it from.
Bloodlines don't always run clean. Through the ages some become tainted and corrupted. Others go in the total opposite direction in the drop of a hat, or this case the bite of a vampire. During the height of the great Eldenal Elthannar, High King of the races, there lurked an evil that would be the downfall of his kingdom.
The King was a strong leader with a strong heart, his soul however was weak and would be easily swayed. Kaezul sent his most prized minion, his right hand if you will, Tarlisha who's missionw as clear and simple. Turn the kingdom, bring downt he King. Part of the most ancient vampire clan, Tarlisha was more powerful than Kaezul's most trained assassins. He knew that she would be the one to accomplish the task.
She met with him one night under the cover of a chilly winter breeze, appearing from the shadows she went into his tent and received the most important mission of the age. At that exact moment that this meeting was held, a great siege was upon Highkeep and Eldenal Elthannar was becoming weak. IF there was ever a prime time to strike, Kaezul knew that his time was at hand. Strike hard and strike now.
Tarlisha was very wise and cleaver, many of the vampires during that age were turned by her. Yatic was her favorite pet, and wheter she knew it or not, he always followed her wherever she went. This time it was no different, he tailed her through Freeport, the Plaguelands, and into Highhold itself. She snuck in to the basements of the kingdom and slowly wove her spells on the King.
The High King was in love with Tarlisha and it broke his heart because he loved Lianna and he could not find a way to tell her of his betrayel. Tarlisha was intoxicating and the High King would sneak down to the dungeons each night because he had to be with her. Silenna, the princess, saw her father go down that way a few times and thought nothing of it because he often wandered their old mansion when they lived in the Faydark and she assumed he was just a light sleeper.
One day at the very height of the siege, Jontran Elthannar, the King's younger brother, went for a stroll around the courtyard. He passed his nephews - Rildar, the Heir and eldest, and Ellok, the youngest - sparring in the yard with their blades. Pausing briefly to watch them, Jontran continued towards his destination, the dungeons.
Tarlisha was seducing both Eldenal and Jontran at the same time, allowing neither to learn of the other. She would use this rift in the family later and to her advantage. She was not one to waste a good opportunity. She took advantage of the failed seige on the kingdom and lured Jontran to the dungeon. Now that he was out of the way, she had her sights set on the King. Just as she was heading to the stairs he was running to her. Her control over him was strong now and he ran right into the arms of a trap where she took him to her side.
It was screaming that woke the children and Ellok took off to his mother's bedchambers while Rildar and Silenna ran to see what was going on. They ran past the kitchens and threw the crowded corridors to the basement where they saw their father lying on the ground, before the shocking fact could register, Tarlisha jumped from the shadows and took Rildar sinking her teeth into his neck. She flung him to the ground after the bite and grabbed the princess.
Ellok found his mother and together they hid in her room trying to hide from the commotion. Tarlisha beat the door down and confronted Lianna. She told the Queen of the King's deciet and as her body slumped to the ground, she grinned at the child.
When the King woke up, the color of his eyes was blood red. Raging and cursing his new existance, he eventually gathered all of his newfound strength and took his family new and old - fleeing the castle. Even though the King and his family were vampires now, servants and guards alike stayed true to their King and when the dust settled, they traveled to Faydark.
Eldenal had his sights set on aquiring more servants and followers to the mansion. He went after the most powerful adventurers to guard his mansion and the beautiful victims to be his servants. Tarlisha wanted nothing to do with the live thralls pouring ito the mansion and decided to do a little recruiting of her own. She gathered the undead, the dead, and those who wished they were dead and brought them to her. Outraged at the seditious nature in which Tarlisha was acting against him, Lord Eldenal raised his hand to Tarlisha and before he knew it Jontran was upon him with a dagger in hand. There was a struggle over the dagger and Eldenal emerged victorious, banishing his creator from the mansion. Tarlisha took Jontran and the gathering of undead followers she had aquired and fled the mansion to seek shelter in the catacombs below. To this day, the ancient vampire continues to plot her revenge on Eldenal Elthannar and his family.
