Find an old adventurer (Northern Newport • Just to the east of the entrance, against the city walls. Turn right when exiting the city.) .
You say, 'Hail, an old adventurer'
an old adventurer says, 'Ah! An adventurer, are you? And not without some experience, I see. Excellent! Many would-be adventurers come past here, but only a few prove they are willing to work their way up and earn their own experience out in the wilds. To see another one truly beginning to make a name for themselves--ah! It reminds me of my early days. As a token of my appreciation, would you like one of my weapons, little one? I have little use for them any more. They make take some getting used to, but in your hands I am sure they will shine.'
As a melee class:
You say, 'Sure, I'll take a weapon if you don't mind.'
an old adventurer says, 'What sort of weapon would you prefer? In terms of attack power, each is equal. However, each provides a different bonus. The Sword will increase your Stamina slightly, increasing your health. The Mace will increase your Strength, augmenting your physical damage somewhat. The Dagger will increase your Dexterity, providing you with greater accuracy in combat.'
As a caster class:
You say, 'Sure, I'll take a weapon if you don't mind.'
an old adventurer says, 'What sort of weapon would you prefer? The Staff will allow you to attack in melee, but a Enchanter like yourself will only be able to wield it in your primary hand. The Stein, by contrast, will be convenient to carry in either hand, but will not allow you to attack physically if you put it in your primary hand.'
