Find a visitor from Newport (Zenn Malath  at -338, -7, 136  • Sitting near the fire) .

You say, 'Hail, a visitor from Newport'
a visitor from Newport says, 'Hail. These Frogloks have created quite the tourist trap, haven't they?'
Note: You must be a natural Dark Elf to trigger this quest, being under the effects of an illusion does not count.
You say, 'What brings a Dark Elf to a place like this?'
a visitor from Newport says, 'I could ask you the same. Were you some lesser race, I might tell you off, but I admit seeing another of my kind in this remote place does intrigue me. In truth, I came here to meditate on the gods.'
You say, 'What about the gods? Perhaps I can offer some guidance.'
a visitor from Newport says, 'You're as green as I am on theology. You don't even bear the amulet of any god. What guidance could you offer me?'

While in Zenn Malath, I found a fellow Dark Elf who came to the settlement for the purpose of theological meditation. He seemed interested in discussing the matter further, but he would not hear my opinion of the gods due to my own inexperience with religion. Perhaps he will have more to say if I visit him once I've chosen a religious path for myself.

Return to a visitor from Newport once you have pledged to a deity.

You say, 'What about the gods? Perhaps I can offer some guidance.'
a visitor from Newport says, 'I'm preparing to make a trip to the Island of Voices in order to pledge myself to one of the pantheon, but I'm unsure how I feel on matters of law and chaos. As a fellow Dark Elf, how do you view lawfulness?'

Lawful Shift
You say, '[LAWFUL] Law is the backbone of Dalayan civilization. Duty, justice, and respect for rightful authority are values to which all should aspire. I urge you to choose a deity who embodies these traits, for what good is the word of a man whose god is without honor?'
a visitor from Newport says, 'I see. You make a good case for the rule of law, dark brother. Perhaps I shall follow in your footsteps when the time comes. Thank you.'
Chaotic Shift
You say, '[CHAOTIC] Law is tedious. The fanciful words of the lawful -- honor, justice, and so on -- are little more than hollow platitudes. How can a man live life to the fullest when his hands are manacled by needless rules?'
a visitor from Newport says, 'I see. Chaos does have its allure, dark sister. Perhaps I shall follow in your footsteps when the time comes. Thank you.'
No Shift
You say, '[NEITHER] I feel no strong pull toward either, in truth. Each has a place in Dalaya, and to adhere blindly to one or the other is an exercise in foolishness.'

You have completed a quest. [A Matter of Faith]

I offered some casual religious guidance to a fellow Dark Elf in Zenn Malath. He seemed grateful, though I know not whether he took my words to heart.
