Walkthrough

Find Master Kair`Got (Dreadlands  at 776, 9648, 1068  • Refuge) .

Master Kair`Got says, 'Come <Player Name>, there is much to be discussed.'
You say, 'Hail, Master Kair`Got'
Master Kair`Got says, '<Player Name>. <Player Class> of no small measure. I suppose you are wondering why I've called you here today.'
[D1]
You say, 'The question had crossed my mind.'
Master Kair`Got sighs. 'You are a catalyst, <Player Name>. A terrible, fast acting catalyst. You came in offering help, help we desperatly  [sic] needed, but at the cost of forcing us to act.'
You say, 'I still don't understand. I have not wronged you, have I?'
MISSING TEXT'
You say, 'I had no intention of forcing your hand.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'I'm sure you didn't, yet here we stand. And I can't help but believe that was your real intention all along. You, or the people you work for clearly want Kaezul disposed of. We have no choice but to move towards that now, or risk eradication.'
You say, 'Eradication? Are you in trouble?'
Master Kair`Got says, 'You killed Raptor, <Player Name>. He was a high profile killer, a legend in Ikild. Raptor didn't have targets, he had victims. As soon as the coin passed into his hands, the rest of your life was a mere formality, a prelude to your immenent  [sic] demise. Until you. The Claw wanted to keep this underwraps  [sic], to avoid embarrassment, but they won't be able to anymore. This-You are outted by this action. You've prodded the beast too much, and it is only a matter of time until...'
[D2]
You say, 'I imagine it must have something to do with Raptor.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'He was a high profile killer, a legend in Ikild.
You say, 'Until?'
Rorlna walks up from behind and says, 'The Mist'
Master Kair`Got says, 'Precisely.'
You say, 'But aren't we safe here?'
Master Kair`Got shakes his head and gestures towards Sortel.
Brother Sortel says, 'Even if they can't find us, they don't really need too. They'll just flood the area, and it will eventually find and kill us all. It all comes back down to the Mist. We can't win against it.'
You say, 'I didn't come all the way out here to be stopped by the Mist!'
Rorlna interrupts Master Kair`Got. 'The Mist has always been the problem. We have no way to stand up to it.'
Kolsaz seems to be about to speak up, but Rorlna glares at him.
[D1] - Good Shift?
You say, 'You are holding out on me! Don't do this to me. Everything I hold dear is on the line.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'That is preciesly  [sic] why you're before us now.'
[D2] - Evil (+3)
You say, 'Liars! You know more, and I'll find it out, if I have to kill all of you to do it.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'Calm down at once <Player Name>. That is preciesly  [sic] why you're before us now.'
You say, 'Then do tell me more.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'Rorlna...'
Rorlna says, 'Kaezul didn't create The Mist. He acquired it.
[D1]
You say, 'Where did he get it from?'
Master Kair`Got says, 'The where is simple. Its where he has positioned himself since the invasion of your home. The answer lies in the fortress, Reghrat. But assuming you can find a way past the legions stationed in the Lake of Ill Omen and find a path into the fortress, unless you can already defeat the Mist, it is a fools errand. You'll die like everyone else.'
[D2]
You say, 'Who did it  [sic] take it from?'
You say, 'Then what can I do! How do we beat this thing?'
Master Kair`Got looks around cautiously. 'We have a thought... but it will not be easy. To defeat the impossible, you must venture into the impossible itself.'
You say, 'I don't think I follow.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'Someone created the Mist. There must be a record of it somewhere. But Kaezul control of all ancient resources. Except one. How much do you know about the ancient city of Yclist.'
Note: There is no response to this prompt in game. They just say nothing.
You say, 'I'm a bit of an expert.'
You say, 'Not much I'm afraid.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'I won't bore you with the details, as we have few anyway. If you want to know the legends, I suggest speaking to the old one. The important part is that no one has been able to enter it since it was sealed off during the Cataclysm, Kaezul included. Within it's walls, lie the tomes, diarys, and more of the most powerful Enchanters of the old Iksar empire. If they didn't create the Mist, then surely they would know who did. Go to the emerald jungle, and find a way into that city.'
You say, 'So get into the city, and return with a few books? Sounds easy enough.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'Hopefully for you it will be. We abandoned the idea of getting into the city a long time ago. We have no idea how to beat the wards, and will not throw any more lives at it futily. It is up to you and you alone. Perhaps the legends and an outsiders perspective can shed some light on it all, but you are on your own. You are all dismissed. Except you <Player Name>, I have one more thing to mention to you.'

Your journal has been updated. [Retribution]

Journal Text: We need to discover the nature of the Mist. If we can combat it, we can beat Kaezul, free Nagthilian, and who knows what else. I have been tasked by the rebellion to retrieve whatever records I can from the veiled city of Yclist and return to them.
You say, 'What is it?'
Master Kair`Got says, 'Things are about to get a lot more dangerous. We are planning a meeting with the Orcs about a unified offensive, among other things. Any allies you have... now is the time to gather them.'
You say, 'Tell me more about Yclist.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'I never paid much attention to the old legends. If you want an accurate account, I'd suggest speaking with the Old One. Just take what he has to say with a grain of salt.'
You say, 'Tell me more about Kaezul.'
Master Kair`Got says, 'Again the Old one is a good resource on his history. As for his current whereabouts, we know he left Ikild and moved to the Fortress of Reghrat. But we have no idea how one gets there at this point, nor what defenses are in place.'
You say, 'Tell me more about the Mist.'

Speak with Lady Shaina (Valley of Erimal  at 808, 839, -23  • Erimal, top floor of Sanctuary, south west building) to find a solution to gain entry into Yclist, The Veiled City.
