Find Aelfa the Earth Mephit (Plane of Earth  at -3560, 937, 2  • Near the zone entrance. Between the entry wall and the lake) .

You say, 'Hail, Aelfa the Earth Mephit'

This small earthen mephit seems harmless as she idly scrawls its fingers through the mud in repeating patterns.

Aelfa the Earth Mephit says, 'Oh, hello.' The mephit looks at you curiously as she turns her head at an unconfortable-looking angle to stare at you. 'You aren't from around here are you mortal?'

You say, 'I suppose I'm not. I'm made of blood and flesh, not earth.'

The mephit gives a lilting laugh, at odds with her hewn features. 'Ahaha! You make me laugh, mortal. You should stay here a while with me, I've been so bored since the Great War. There's been nothing to write.'

You say, 'Nothing to write? Are you a poet?'

Aelfa laughs again. 'No silly, I'm a Runologist. I used to craft runes for The Lady, to guard this realm and others.' She sighs. 'After The War was over, my skills were no longer needed and the runes were dismantled as part of the peace agreement. Ever since I've been adrift and purposeless

You say, 'If it would help, you could make a rune for me. I would like to see one.'

Aelfa the Earth Mephit says, 'I would like to mortal, but the making of the old runes is forbidden under the peace agreement.'

Aelfa sighs and returns to her mud scrawling. Even though she refuted your offer, there is a brightness in her eyes that wasn't there before. Aelfa mentioned that the runes were dismantled, perhaps the remnants still survive somewhere.

 

Journal Text: I found a wistful Earth Mephit named Aelfa. She mentioned ancient runes used in The Great War. Maybe I can find some evidence of them.

Collect and Give to Aelfa the Earth Mephit all seven different runes from the minis found in Plane of Earth:

• A Fragment of an Earthen Rune/4 of 7

After the first six turn-ins:

Aelfa the Earth Mephit says, 'Wow, you recovered a rune! It looks like there should be seven total fragments.. If the others are still out there, find them and bring me them! I want to put these together!'

After the seventh turn-in:

Aelfa the Earth Mephit says, 'Marvelous, marvelous! That makes seven of them! Now, I just need a lot of mud to bind them together. Could you bring me a big pile of planar earth?'

 

Journal Text: I've gathered all seven dragon ba- I mean, earth runes. Now I just need to bring Aelfa some planar earth to bind them toether. 30 clumps should be plenty.

Collect and Give to Aelfa the Earth Mephit 30 X Planar Earth

Aelfa begins to drool. 'Finally!'

Aelfa takes the earth and begins to fill in the gaps between the rune fragments. The earth is obviously too dry to bind the fragments together but fortunately there is a lake right... 'Slurpgh' The sound of Aelfas tongue interupts your thought. You then realize that the drool wasn't just in anticipation and that the fragments are indeed binding together as Aelfa runs her fingers in increasingly intricate patterns on the now wet rune. Eventually Aelfa's movements slow and stop. '<Player Name>. It is done,' she says with a hint of mournfulness. 'Here you go, please take it quickly and flee from this place. Thank you for giving me this chance to write again.'

 

Journal Text: Using the seven drago- err, earth runes, Aelfa has repaired a Great War relic for me. It's not what it once was, but it's still a treasure.
