Talk:The Wind Hag

Strategy

Looks like a harpy, has a knock back attack, and at 70% will summon two to four air elementals that also have a stunning attack. Have someone to kite the 2 elementals and you will be set, fail to do so may result in a nightmare. Oh and make sure whoever is kiting them kites them all the way and dosen't camp out while the main adept still up, i saw that happen lol.

OK so basically like it states up top this guy is a harpy. He himself is quite weak, doesnt hit that fast or hard, what makes him hard is the elementals he spawns at 70% AND 30%. Kite them? i think not. they are air elementals, hit hard, fast, summon, AND cast stun. what we did is just disengage the wind hag and dropped the adds as quickly as possible while tank was still tanking the hag. 2x hag claw = sadface <Steel>

We (Allucard's Crew) did it like this: SK tanked it, and everyone else dps/heal... when she got at 70%, our bard Regill, kept the 2 elementals mezzed. and we keep it going, when she got at 30%, we kept trying to mezz adds, and root(he will summon u, but u just run from it). and dps her ass faster now. when she dies... if everyone OOM or whatever, just camp a cleric. and tell everyone to die. Cleric rezz, and u do the loots. Really hard fight...

UPDATE: 7/1 well nobody posted this, but he spawns up north at round /loc 2000 , 46 , Boy he was kinda tough , a lot harder then the other 25 adepts. He does weak dps, but his pets are where its at. Just mana consuming killing them. He only summoned pets at 70% for us. I dont know what happend with everyone else, maybe we interrupted? But if he summoned more ads woulda have been way harder fight. Was fun tho. Did with 25 warrior, 1 monk ,2 clerics, 1 ench, 1 wizard. Good times -Wrenzana

UPDATE 10/14/07
The Wind Hag is in the tower within the harpy area, she is all the way down in the south corner of the area from which you zone in from Lake Starfall. Killed her with a group of 4 toons, warrior (25), bard (25), cleric bot (25) and druid bot (25). Tank spot was on the side of the tower where she spawns, and healers were in max healing range up the hill / wall. Invis'd tank and pulled the mob into position (just around the corner), and tank had his back against the side of the tower to avoid getting fling from knockback. Slow wasn't necessary because Wind Hag is very gimp, like 30ish per hit and didn't hit fast. Bard swapped out a lute and sang AE mez right before mob reached 70% and 30% to gain early control of the adds, (adds spawned right next to Wind Hag) and switched back to weapons and DPS disc once adds were secured. Very easy fight with bard AE mez, healerbots ended with around 30m, tank didn't even use mitigation disc. On a side note, the adds do no despawn upon killing Wind Hag. Just keep things mez'd and med up before taking them one by one.

UPDATE 12/5/07
After a few wipes, we finally got Wind Hag down. Our group was 25 SK, 25 clr (bot), 24 wiz, 24 druid(bot), 23 nec, and 24 ench. Luckily on our third attempt, we got only 1 Air Elem at 70% and 1 Air Elem at 30%. Our enchanter had issues with resists on the Air Elems on all attempts (lvl 24 w/ max resist specialization). From the comments earlier, I would say a bard with AE mez is definitely the best way to CC this encounter.

The key to the encounter is having a good bard or enchanter to mez the adds. If you don't have one, your chances of killing The Wind Hag with mediocre gear in a small group is very minimal.

I would also like to state that each of the summoned elementals gives an adept chunk of experience. I believe I received around 23,000 from the four elementals including some from The Wind Hag. As stated above, they will not despawn once the Wind Hag is dead.
