Our most powerful young enchantress has begun to worry me with her use of our new power. A Triumvirate liaison came to Yclist yesterday to review our research and report back to Ikild. We showed him only the least part of the full potential of yclistinite, but he still seemed deeply troubled. I realized that he must himself be a shaman, to be so disturbed by the idea magic beyond the shamans. I decided to use caution and did not reveal my own growing mastery over the ore and its mind-enhancing effects. However this morning young Zo1Rel revealed to me that she has no been cautious as I.

She stole into the liaison's quarters after our audience and sent him a false prophetic vision. She thought that the vision she sent: a Triumvirate battalion torn to pieces by yclistinite-powered mages would deter any further interference from Ikild. The shaman council could never ignore such a sending were it real, and the idea that we could influence their prophecies would be just as dangerous to us as the actual vision. I fear that So`Rel has landed us in an impossible position, the continuation of our research, and indeed the safely of our very lives depends on the triumvirate not becoming aware of the true power of yclistinite or our mastery of it. The illusions are only the smallest part of the true power it holds.

The magic seems to work inside the mind, with the potential to do nearly anything, if you can think about how. I can speed myself up, running faster that I could in my prime. I can slow someone's movement to a craw, and they won't even realize that they are moving in slow motion. The visions we can create can enthrall someone; freeze them in place completely motionless and senseless. until they are awoken. I can create magical battiers, though they degrade if I beat on them long enough. Zo`Rel's false vision of our prowess as warriors may not be so far off.
