Duplicity - Part V

Hyvek's secrets seem to trouble him more than usual, of late. I'm to search the third floor for three spell scrolls and the remains of a dangerous fire elemental, and hopefully among them, some answers.

You say, 'Hail Hyvek Vahl'

Hyvek Vahl says, 'Lyjan has whispered some very unfortunate things to me. I will not share them yet, but I do have some work for you.'

You say, 'Aww. What's the work?'

Hyvek Vahl says, 'Head past the mines, into the pacified third sublevel where they perform their rituals. Search their casters for their spell scrolls--three should suffice' Hyvek pauses. '...there are also reports of a massive fire elemental hiding somewhere in the area. Find and destroy it, if you can, but remember that discretions is the better part of valor. Do not forget how to run, <playername>.'

Gather and give Hyvek Vahl:

• Runnyeye Spell Scroll x3
• Elemetal Core

Note: There is a difference between the two items Elemental Core and Elemetal Core The NODROP version is the one for this quest, and it dropped ONLY from Brushfire at the end of the event Starting a Brushfire so don't get confused between the two in this quest.

Hyvek tells you, 'Excellent work, <playername>.' Hyvek looks at the core and flips idly through the spell scrolls, then dumps them into a pile with some alchemical components and a note to Ryhajin and motions at a new piece of armor. He notices your expression. 'Sorry, <playername>. I know you want answers, but this stuff isn't my area of expertise. But if you must know what was concerning me...' Hyvek lowers his already-private whisper to a near-inaudible his. 'We believe the Runnyeye may be working with something...else. Something worse, much worse. They call it diabolism to scare their followers, but we're not so sure, and some of us that lived through the Fall have seen their magicks before...'
