Strategy

Group suggestions

  • Boost wisdom or int as high as possible on all toons
  • High AC knight-class tank, 1k minimum. 1 (preferably 2) on-level healers, and a powerful magic dps (or two) likely a winning team.
  • If an enchanter is present, can charm a war treant in the area, probably the best target if you are careful not to attack it.

Battle information

  • Mitigates 80% of incoming physical damage (both melee and ranged), making it difficult for a tank to maintain aggro via pure melee.
  • Extremely accurate in melee combat, landing hits approximately twice as reliably as other adepts.
  • Every close-range physical attack landed on the mystic drake drains a substantial amount of endurance from the attacker, leaving very little opportunity for endurance-based combat abilities.
  • There is a pattern to this fight: your group will first (eventually) get hit by a sizable AE mitigated by WIS or INT (whichever is higher, and complete resist if either is maxed). Soon after, the "gathering magic" phase begins, and raw magic damage (including procs and clickies but excluding DoT ticks) against the adept is greatly amplified for a short time.
    • Direct damage spells cast by "arcane" classes (ENC / MAG / NEC / WIZ) do triple damage during this phase.
    • All other classes' direct damage spells do double damage during this phase.
  • Boss does Erratic Strike for 400ish when it reaches 25% HP.
