Find Veteran Hunter Erik (Thurgadin  at -171, 515, -17  • Western area of the city) .

You say, 'Hail, Veteran Hunter Erik'
Veteran Hunter Erik is studying a sheaf of weathered papers in his hands. He takes a moment to notice you. 'Oh, hail, <Player Race>. Have you come for our services?
You say, 'Services?'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'I take it from your questioning tone that you aren't aware that you stand in the barracks of the White Wyvern. You're free to stay, if you like. Hmm,' he studies you for a moment, 'an adventurer, are you? The White Wyvern may have a use for you, if you are interested in cooperating with us.'
You say, 'What is this "White Wyvern"?'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'The White Wyvern ins my pride, <player race>. It is an organization with links stretching across Dalaya. I founded it some years ago, while I was still in the Thurgadin Militia. I suppose I wasn't serious at first, but but over time I began to arouse interest, and my contacs expanded from a tight-knit circle of my former comrades-in-arms to government insiders and private citizens in every city around the world. Now I serve as chief, overseeing an operation run entirely by Shadow Dwarves, headquartered right here in this once-forgotten city which evn now is receiving new contracts from hight and low every day.'
You say, 'Okay... How do you want me to cooperate with you?'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'Oh, I suppose I should mention that the White Wyvern is a Bounty Hunting association. We are an effective organization, <Player Race>, but I must admit that even the most hearty Shadow Dwarf warrior is not suited to travelling around the world and hunting down bounties in exotic locales. I recently lost an operative. He'd been following a bounty thought to be in the region of the... Sun Peaks? Yes, that was it. In any case, I won't dwell on the details, but I imagine that his Northern constitution was more of a hinderance than a boon, in that place. Regardless, that brings us to the present situation: if you are willing and able, I'd like to try you on as a replacement for him, a Bounty Hunter in your own right. You'll have to prove that you can do the work, of course, and if you do join us, we require that all your Bounty Hunting work be contracted through us. What say you, <Player Race>?'

If you don't want to continue

You say, 'I'll have to think about it.'

The questdialog will end at this point.

To continue

You say, 'Sign me up!'
Veteran Hunter Erik says, 'Wonderful. First things first, let us see if you can handle a bounty. Hmm...'
Veteran Hunter Erik says, 'Njorl!'
Coordinator Njorl says, 'Yes sir?'
Veteran Hunter Erik says, 'Bring me the poster for that local one, if we still have it.'
Coordinator Njorl says, 'Right away, sir! He shuffles through some papers before handing one off to Erik.
Veteran Hunter Erik says, 'Ah, perfect. Are you still here, <Player Name>?'
Note: No auto-text at this point, you have to type an answer or Hail him again.
You say, 'Yes' (or) 'Hail, Veteran Hunter Erik'.
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'Ah, there you are. This bounty is just the thing to get you started. I won't trouble you with the bureaucratic details, but suffice it to say that an infamous traitor to our people was recently spotted hiding in the Thurgadin Mines, in the northeast corner of the town. I don't imagine he will come out to greet you on his own, but perhaps you can draw him out by roughing up some of the rogue miners that are always sneaking around down there. What say you, <Player Name>? Will you take this bounty?'
You say, 'I will take this bounty.'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'Good. I don't expect this one will take you long. Return to me when you have succeeded in slaying the bounty.'

Kill rogue dwarf miner until ...

a presence edges into view.
Note: You have 5 minutes to hail it.
You say, 'Hail, a presence'
a presence shuffles.

Betrayer Oswold will spawn once you've hailed a presence.

You say, 'Come out of there!'
Betrayer Oswold says, 'You'll never take me alive!'

Kill Betrayer Oswold.

Betrayer Oswold says, 'Blagh!'

Return to Veteran Hunter Erik.

You say, 'Hail, Veteran Hunter Erik'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'Excellent work, <Player Name>! As this was an Official bounty, we will notify the organization that posted this bounty of your involvement and success.'

Your faction standing with Shadow Dwarves has gotten better!

You say, 'Official bounty?'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'The bounty requests we get here tend to come in three different varieties: first, there are the bounties posted by some official body--a faction, a guild, or even a whole town. We call those Official bounties. The ones who post those bounties tend to appreciate knowing who did it for them. Some of our bounty hunters even build up reputations this way. Second, there are bounties that are posted discreetly, usually by individuals. Such people tend to offer a cash reward for whoever claims their bounties--we take a premium on those, by the way--and don't care to know the details of how it was done, or who did it. We call those Private bounties. Lastly, there are those who post bounties out of pure desperation, hoping someone will decide to take it without any inducements after hearing their story. We call those General bounties.'
You say, 'I see. Anything else?'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'Oh, one other thing: in addition to any reputation or cash, we will award you Bounty Tokens for each job you complete. These Tokens can be redeemed at our supply master for improved bounty hunting equipment.'

You receive 1 First Rank Bounty Token.

You say, 'Alright. So, uh, where do I--'
Veteran Hunter Erik tells you, 'Coordinator Njorl will handle bounty offers and rewards for you from this point forward. Speak to him whenever you'd like to start. Take note that the available bounties tend to change day by day, and that we discourage taking too many bounties in a day--we don't want you overtaxing yourself and getting yourself killed. On that note, congratulations! You are now officially a First Rank Bounty Hunter for the White Wyvern. If you work hard and finish enough First Rank bounties, we will consider you for promotion soon enough. Rank Officer Friga will handle those considerations for you. Good luck.'
