Hoping to train his lock picking skill under cover of night, a Rogue waits for Guard Jari to finish her patrol in Athica.

Class Description

The Rogue is a high-damage melee class. This class has a number of unique skills, including Backstab, setting traps, Make Poison, Pick Pocket. Rogue is the only class that can max the Lockpick and Set/Disarm Traps skills to 250.

Class Mechanics

Evade is a Rogue pseudo-skill which may be activated by turning off auto-attack and hiding while in combat. A successful evade will drop the Rogue's aggro to 1.

Heat is gained when a character is caught picking a lock or stealing with Pick Pocket. Too much heat will cause you to become KOS temporarily with and only with Guard factions (be warned - Lottery Masters are on these factions - and see through hide/sneak). The effects of heat can last for well over an hour, however heat decays over time (only while the character is online). You can view your heat status with #stats.

Starting Statistics

The Rogue class receives 30 starting points to distribute in the various stats. The most useful stats for a Rogue are STR (increases melee damage), DEX (increases melee accuracy), and STA (increases hitpoints and stamina used for stances). WIS/INT are the least useful stats for a Rogue (but also the hardest to cap).
