Hide

This ability allows the character to completely conceal themselves from most mobs. Some higher level mobs can detect hidden characters which adds spice to the game.

Moving, attacking, casting a spell are all actions that will cause a hidden character to become visible again. An exception to this rule is the Rogue, who can use both Hide and Sneak in conjunction to move around undetected, albeit at a slow pace.

Checking success by /target <your_name>, you will get a message you cannot see such name around here.
