Group Strategy

  • Getting close to the adept will result in getting knocked down this adept must be engaged at range.
  • If you want attacks to land look for items/spells that allow you more than 100 range.
  • Highly suggested to do this adept at level 1 as the lower max HP will make you easier to heal.
  • Unequip anything that gives you hp or stamina.
  • Negative stamina items are good(if they don't have positive HP) but negative HP items are not currently handled properly by the client.
  • When adept emotes everyone should hide behind pillar on the left unless you know someone can't perform the move well then if you have a large enough group may be able to just tank it as it is spread across up to 5 people. you definitely don't want to get hit by more than 2 of the 5 shots even on a adept hunter as more than 2 may be instant death for any toon.
  • Any toon the size of a High Elf or smaller will need to click or hail a foothold npc for quick access to the rail(this can also be done without the npc) or suffer from line of sight issues. hailing it seems to be the most reliable option. The npc has a limited range it can be interacted with so you may have to move from the hiding spot a little to be able to activate it.
  • Foothold npc is not required and unusable by larger races.
  • Hiding in the hall also works but tends to take more time to return to the fight.

Jayla's Insight

  • Hazel the Shrew is a mean-spirited brownie whose precarious position protects her from close-range combat and pets. She must be fought via long-range means from a specific ledge to the north. Those interested in her story should seek out Caynid Brightwater within Athica, although doing so is optional.
  • A skilled archer, Hazel fires arrows that deal percentage-based damage, meaning those with lower HP will take less damage and therefore be easier to heal. She will also periodically overload her bow during combat, spraying 5 arrows toward the ledge all at once. The player should bear in mind that archers rely on line of sight to make their attacks, and this one is no exception. If her target hides from her, she will be quick to find a replacement.
Note: Pets are unable to participate in this fight due to Hazel's high position. You may wish to type '/pet hold' to stop seeing this message. Shorter races may need to stand on railing to get line of sight.
