Revision as of 22:33, 27 October 2019

This quest is for the Tier 13 tank weapon, Jyre. Upon finishing this quest your deity specialization bonus will be set at -20%, and cannot be raised past this by alignment hits or switching to Pariah. This will make your character approximately 4% worse (Having 250/250 skill in a specialization provides 10% bonus, and max deity bonus increases the bonus by 20% to 12%. After Jyre you will be set at 8% bonus). Despite this, the defensive benefits provided by both the weapon and the buff that is given on entering combat are considered by most to be worth it for all raid tanks.

Find Gorund Ebonblade (Northern Newport  at 80, 60  • Behind Ironforge's) . Have A Glowing Shard in your inventory.

You say, 'Hail, Gorund Ebonblade'
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Greetings, <Player Name>. My name is Gront Ebonblade, blacksmith extraordinaire. Kings around the world seek my expertise in supplying weapons to their finest men. I have created many a great blade which no doubt have fell countless foes for years. However, I fear I am growing to an age where I will no longer be able to produce weaponry with such skill. But I cannot quit now without fulfilling my dream.'
You say, 'What is your dream?'
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Since I forged my first blade, I have always been propelled by my dream of creating a truly great sword, finer than anything I have ever created. As of yet, nothing has been to my satisfaction. I have always been fascinated with a certain tale I heard when I was a child.'
You say, 'Would you share this tale with me?'
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Yes, there's a tale describing a legendary blade, once wielded by one of the greatest crusaders of all time. This man is a distant ancestor of mine. But, there's a problem.'
You say, 'Heh, what's this problem?'
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Well, no one knows what happened to him. Through my years of research, I have sufficient information to believe that he fell protecting his hometown against Kaezul's forces. This is all I know... if you come across anything, could you please help an aging man fulfill his dream?'
You say, 'I have not found the blade you speak of but I was wondering if you would be able forge something out of this? *show him the glowing shard*'
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'This is... This is incredible! I have never seen or felt anything quite like it before. What power...'
You say, 'So I take that as a yes?'
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'It would make this old Dwarf happy to create a truly unique and powerful weapon from this. But I fear that to do so I would require a material I have seen only once before: A crystal of Pure Elemental Essence. Without it, there is no way I could dream of melding it from this form. If you can return to me with this crystal and the shard I will show you what these old hands are capable of.'

Give A Glowing Shard and Pure Elemental Essence to Gorund Ebonblade.

Gorund Ebonblade says, 'The essence... I will get to work right away.'
Gorund Ebonblade places the shard within the forge and tosses the essence on top. The forge roars to life, sparking and sputtering huge gouts of flame, as he begins to hammer away at the raw materials. Gorund's focus is unwavering, even as several small explosions rock the ground beneath your feet. Without looking back, Gorund calls out: 'Looks like I might need a little help here...'.
Fire begins to bursts from the forge, taking on life!

Have an enchanter mez the greater fire elementals. You will need a group healer as well. After several minutes:

Gorund Ebonblade says, 'It is finished!'
As Gorund lifts the blade from the forge the fire elementals dissipate.
You say, 'Hail, Gorund Ebonblade'
Gorund Ebonblade hands Rokkon the newly forged blade.
You receive A Burning Sword from Gorund Ebonblade.
Gorund Ebonblade says, 'Here. The blade has been created, but I fear that there is still much untapped power within. Unfortunately, accessing this power is well beyond my prowess--there is nothing more I can do. You must listen to it and release its full potential on your own. Thank you for giving this old dwarf the opportunity to create such a masterpiece... even greater than the Ebonblade of my ancestors. This is no doubt the finest task I shall ever complete, I will die an old and satisfied Dwarf.'
As you grab onto the blade you are overcome by burning pain. It sears into your skull igniting a single thought. You feel the unsated hunger to slay lava elementals deep within the Red Sun Peaks. And you must do it with as little interference as possible.

Kill A greater lava spirit. Quest intended to be done in a duo, you do not need the kill shots, but the weapon must be equipped.

Your hunger is not yet sated!

After 250 kills:

Your hunger has finally been quenched. A new image burns into your mind. The image of a red dragon. He must die and you will not tolerate any more then two others.

Kill Ganzese the Mercenary with a group of no more then 3.

The red dragon lies dead at your feet. As you stare down at the lifeless corpse you feel your blade surge with fire. The burning hatred it had for you moments ago diminishes slightly. A powerful voice that you have heard once before enters your mind. 'Do you seek power Rokkon? If so carry out my will. Dethrone the false king who has claimed this mountain in my absence, and do it alone. Do not worry though Rokkon... I will grant you a portion of my strength so that you may carry out my command.'

Kill The Mountain King. This must be done solo. When fighting enemies, they are weakened by your weapon which disables some of their mechanics, increases the damage they take and reduces damage to you by a large amount. The debuff works against regular enemies in the non-winged portion and Mountain King wing of emberflow. The debuff does not apply in other wings or against names (including cash mobs) other than MK.

Once again the caverns tremble will a terrible force. 'Foolish false king, to think you could claim this mountain as your own... Your blissful ignorance has been eternally quenched.'
I have been away far too long if a weakling like that has taken claim to MY prison. My hand has left me, ran to lands claimed by the one you chained me originally to this wretched place. Such treachery will NOT go unpunished... Kill the traitor. Kill Rohk.

Kill Rohk, The Traitorous Hand.

A powerful voice that you have heard once before enters your mind. 'And so the cowardice Hand has been crushed. I believe you are worthy of my audience player but I require one last thing from you. A feather from my pet before I was shackled to this mountain. Blazewind, the Phoenix Matron. She was not a loyal creature no... I bound her to me threw the golden bands that are clasped around her feet. None the less, when I was imprisoned she fled to the reaches of Azzerach to escape Tarhyl's eye. Perhaps she was successful or perhaps he did not care, either way she exists there still. Go. I have branded you to agitate her from her slumber, you will find her in one of the various pools of lava. You will know when you found the right one. Oh... And Rokkon, do bring help. I would not have tamed Blazewind in my prime if she was weak like Rohk.'

Kill Blazewind.

You pluck a feather from the phoenix matron and place it into your belongings. The next step is obvious, as an image of the depths of Redsun Peaks invades your mind in a heated flash. You should bring both the feather and the sword you were bestowed back to where they belong.
You receive A Feather of Rebirth from Blazewind.
Your journal has been updated. [A Dormant Power]

Find an unnamed skeleton near the lava outside of Ganzese the Mercenary room. Hand the feather and A Burning Sword to it.

Jyre, The Mountain`s Fury shouts, 'So, you have the audacity to return my physical form and ask for my power? *Clearly* you did not expect me to give it willingly given that you are not alone... EMBRACE THE MOUNTAIN'S FURY! YOU WILL ALL BURN BEFORE IT, BEFORE ME!'

Kill Jyre, The Mountain's Fury.

Yes... THIS is what I have been looking for... So many years imprisoned within the weak. Suffocated by their feebleness. But you... Despite everything you have come this far. Imagine what you could accomplish with MY power. You see... This has been a test of sorts, a test to show your worth. One that either would have resulted in success or death. Fortunate for you it is the former, and I am most pleased. So now... I offer you this once chance. Cast aside your beliefs and pledge fealty to me. Either give your sword to him or wait for your certain death. If you give him back your sword you will receive the power of Jyre but will receive a -20% deity bonus.)

Hand A Burning Sword to Jyre, The Mountain's Fury

Jyre, The Mountain`s Fury collapses into a heap of bones, as the flames surrounding it rush and swirl around Rokkon.
From this day forth Rokkon, you shall be my hand. We shall conquer this world, and the next...
You receive Jyre from Jyre, The Mountain`s Fury.
