Tanner Lotian says, 'Hrm, normally I don't do this, but my supplier has failed to deliver on a few goods I requested as special order. Eh, no harm I suppose... care to help me out? It's not a hard job, really, and there would be payment in it for you.'

You say, 'I'm listening.'

Tanner Lotian says, 'The leather business is a tough one, you always have to try new things to stay on top of the competition. Well, now is a time I want to try something new. Leather is fine and dandy, but lining it with scales should make the armor stronger while keeping it's light weight. This is where you come in: out in the mountains to the west are scaly creatures called basilisks. I'd like to test out their scales first, so if you could fetch me up seven of them, it would allow me to get started.'

Gather and give Tanner Lotian:

Tanner Lotian says, 'Nice haul, <Player Name>. Just give me a moment and I'll see what I can do with a pair of boots. Hmm, yes... just one or two scales like so on the sides, and then one more here... eh, maybe another here. There, that should do it. Tell you what, since you where such a great help getting the scales for me, and I have leftovers, you can have these boots on the house.'
