44 articles need a serious clean up

The list of hardcore characters is broken. It needs PHP tags. Nathasar (talk) 12:04, 21 October 2023 (EDT)

White table headers with Yellow text

Very hard on the eyes and difficult to read. Please fix.

AA's added to Main Page

I would like to see Alternate_Advancement added to the front page please --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Krujo (talk).

Images for Item Infobox

I don't think this belongs here, but can we have a page with a list or index of all the images for use in the item infobox. Freedan 09:33, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

We don't a list - syops have access to a special tool for finding the image. If you're using User:Meyers tool, just take the #'s from the end of the image url for the image in the item infobox, it's the same thing. - Rari Talk 03:34, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

New main page design proposal

I made this, trying to make the main page a little easier to navigate. - Rari Talk 03:34, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't like the new layout, it doesn't feel as well organized. Maybe each subclass could have its own line instead of continue. like instead of *magician * monk it could be: Magician Monk

so each subtopic has its own line instead of looking cramped and less easy to see what you want. . --Sayen 07:05, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, I had the classes arranged by archetype. But you want it more like this? - Rari Talk 07:29, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Im not trying to be mean, i just think that its too crude, hard to navigate, and ugly. It just seems like a cruder downgrade. --Meteorite777

I don't believe the old one was better, in fact both show the exact same information, but I do agree we could do better. Everything is placed well, but I don't think within each box can be considered organized. Downgrade? Hardly. But we can do better. -Tyrsell 13:39, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Feel free to fuck around with it - I didn't want to subtract any information, because that's usually the first thing people freak out over. And trying to sort all of those links into logical groups got a little weird in some places. - Rari Talk 14:08, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

To be honest, I liked the old format better. I preferred the news up at the top here [1], rather than at the bottom as present. Perhaps not quite as prominent as that, as it seemed it had too much space, but still up towards the top. I do like the change in colors though, as the old format seemed randomly selected. Esibun 22:17, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Drop some different colors in, all the same color make it too blah. And put the link to the SoD main page back up at the top like a headline like it was. Artara 18:03, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps my issue is it makes the news feature a bit more prominently than the information. No one wants to read what the mods have to say... they are here for the links really. Its great for people to read the news updates, but they happen so infrequently. But I'm not feeling creative enough today to do something about it. Wessel! Make something! -Tyrsell 18:14, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Good point; I moved news to the bottom. - Rari Talk 21:06, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes have it more like sandbox 2, but do it for each box you created. than it is easier to spot notice what you ware looking for. Also some more color if possible. ~~ User:Sayen

I was just trying to make sure I understood what you were saying, I really don't like that version. Not sure what other people think though - my opinion definitely isn't the only one that matters . And please sign your comments with four tildes. - Rari Talk 09:59, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

I think the new page is more inviting to people looking at the wiki for the first time. User:kariden

Wow, nice job on the new color choice, looks great. Esibun (Talk) 05:32, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks - I was bothering Wold and Wiz for feedback on it, throwing different color samples up for like half an hour till we got to this one, and I declared that it made the moose happy. Wiz hates aqua, fyi :P - Rari Talk 19:25, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

looks great! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Rioisk (talk).

Hey I just wanted to say that I think your new design looks great. I am a web developer, and one thing I learned quickly is that people hate change. Give them some time. --Caosse

Thanks! Since the color changed, the response has been very positive, so I'm feeling pretty good about the new look. Glad you like it. The design isn't completely original, but neither was the old one :P - Rari Talk 18:53, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

The New Clock

First off phenomenal idea! Surprisingly handy for those of us who play with the wiki open all the time.

But I can't help but notice that at times the Main Page's time gets stuck at an earlier time. I imagine its a caching issue, as going to a random page or the recent changes page tends to show the right time. But I figured I'd ask if you knew any solution to that. -Tyrsell 18:53, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

This is probably going to sound terrible, but better to cover all the simple bases first. You realize have to refresh, right - it doesn't update on it's own. The only real option for "fixing" it would be to link the text to something link the function in {{purge}}, but even that would require user action. The main issue with the clock is going to be there is a slight delay on site compared to ingame - this is a mathematical issue, not a wiki issue, but after two days, two math majors and me, a very slight delay? meh. - Rari Talk 00:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

I like the new clock! Hooch 14:01, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Did the clock stop working? Esibun (Talk) 00:09, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Nope. Just logged in to check it against the official time, and it seems to be working just fine. - Rari Talk 01:09, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Odd, was displaying 0 am for a bit there, seems to be working fine now :\ Esibun (Talk) 21:46, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Armor/Weapons with effects?

dunno how possibile this is but is there away to start linking items that have spells/effects to a page of there own? i know your quite busy with the equipment catagorys as it is but if i get some advice on how to help with anything with out steping on anyones toes lemme know ill try and help --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Krujo (talk).

This has been done for most items (see any worn effect, focus effect or advanced item effect). As for other item effects, particularly those that use spells for the effect, that has been done somewhat through the use of special templates on those spell pages, and these should be more reliable after the item reformatting project (see the site notice.) If I'm completely missing the point, please feel free to try and explain further or make a page in your user name space to use as an example.
Not going lie, getting the tables done for the equipment tables is pretty much on hold for me until the item reformatting project has been completed, since the tables will need to be remade afterwards (not huge changes, but changes none-the-less.) In the meantime, expect to see items begin mysteriously disappearing from them. - Rari Talk 06:11, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Text too light for background

While looking at the Bard spell list the text descriptions are so light on the light background that they are near illegible. Can you please make just the text darker please. Thanks

Acronyms page

I've created an Acronyms page that lists common acronyms and their meanings, i.e. MQ = Main Quest. This would be helpful for beginners and intermediate users alike, and I would like to see it on the main page and to see its content grow.

Now what? How do I get it populated (by long time players) and then get a link put on the main page? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:W4shards (talk).

I don't see this page as currently being relevant enough to link from the main page. You can try asking on the forums to get people to add to it. - Rari Talk 16:11, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Healing

http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Category_talk:Heals:_Heals_spells

I would like to add Total HP healed, mana cost, and HP per mana to that table, could someone help me by adding the columns neccesary to do this? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Hillary (talk).

This information can be provided somewhere, but atm all of those categories use the same template and editing one would change the rest. You don't need to double post on talk pages though, the people who read them read them all. - Rari Talk 23:47, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

You don't need to double post on talk pages though, the people who read them read them all. How can I do that?-Hillary

Taking this discussion to your talk page, but basically I misunderstood what you wanted and the answer is no. - Rari Talk 01:48, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Dalaya Dark and the Login Box

Login box is REALLY hard to read in contrast to the new theme. Any way it can be skinned too? -Tyrsell 18:51, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes well... ok. Login should be easier, had to sacrifice some readability elsewhere (Recent Changes) but *shrug* - Rari Talk 01:39, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
