Note: This quest becomes available after you've rescued Vahir Ghan and Vahir Rahkahl

Find Vahir Rahkahl (Southern Waste of Tarhyl  at 1617, -681  • Vah Rehn camp) .

You say, 'I sensed something strange about the sword I used to free you.'
Rahkahl looks you over. 'I suppose you did, at that. You are not and can never be Vahir, but perhaps it would be good to help you forge the blade of one. You have certainly done enough in the service of the vah to have earned it.'
You say, 'What do I have to do to forge my own Shir blade?'
Vahir Rahkahl says, 'To forge the blade, you will need to seek out the things that are the antithesis of all you believe. It is that which will make your instrument. Only by understanding that which you hate and remaking it into something holy can you begin to understand the larger picture. Go to the Plane of Nightmare, for all the pieces can be found there. Silk for the grip from a corpseworm. Frightful magic from a dream-goblin, to fuel the enchantment. A hateful gem from a mephit prince, to cap the hilt. A ingot of nightmare-metal from a knightmare to form the blade. Forge them into your weapon and then bring the result to me.'

Collect and combine in a Forge to create Shir Blade:

  • Hateful Gem
  • Frightful Magic
  • Silk Wrapping
  • Nightmarish Metal

Give Shir Blade to Vahir Rahkahl.

Rahkahl takes the blade and, concentrating for a moment, unlocks the magic held inside. He hands it back to you. 'Take this, <Player Name>, and use it against our enemies. Treat it well, attend to it, and enhance it with magic and runes that you find. It will serve you well.'
