Shahar Expedition Report/Shred/Text

Shala Shahar

I never thought I would say these words, but thank the stars for the Vahl.

We happened upon them a few days ago. It was only natural, given that we both wanted the same thing--something to eat and a place to hide from the spirits--but that is has given us joy is a great surprise. And yet, there it is; a glow pervades the camp, not quite of hope, but at least of Shir spirit, of togetherness and peace in the face of certain death.

While we have more combat prowess, the Vahl expedition leader has proved more valuable. He has taken a great deal of the load from my shoulders, and for that I am immensely grateful. I may be brave, I may know how to fight, but I have made misstep after misstep and I know that I would let my people down if I had to lead them for much longer. They forgive me, yes, but why should they have to?

Sharakh believes he's has found a way to sneak a message out, but something in his bearing strikes me as less than hopeful. I must admit I'm curious, but it means little. Deep down, we all know what must come. The real surprise is finding happiness, even buried as we are under thousands of stones and spirits.
