Note: This quest begins from dialog given by Afaven during the previous quest.

You say, 'Well first things first then. Where is this journal.'

Afaven says, 'It is, of course, the treasure I mentioned earlier. I had just found it, but huntsmen from Halas caught up to me. Damn Emma! But I digress. I was able to rehide the treasure before they found it. You will need to retrieve the treasure, and its contents, and bring it back here. I shall further instruct you then. I left the stash in the Gemathian caverns. I broke one of the vials in my haste however... don't expect even the Geonids to be unaffected by that one.'

Grab a Shovel and head the southern most part of the Gemathian Caves in Faentharc Woods.

In the bottom cave you should find a soft plot of soil.

You say, 'Hail, a soft plot of soil'

Unsurprisingly, the soil does not respond.

You say, 'This must be the place where Afevan buried the treasure...'

After a bit of work, you find a few buried items...

You receive A Cultists Scribings from a soft plot of soil.

You receive Broken Vessel of Gradalsh from a soft plot of soil.

an angry geode (Faentharc Woods  •) will spawn. Killing it is optional.

Give Broken Vessel of Gradalsh to Afaven.

You say, 'Hail, Afaven'

Afaven says, 'You have much to do. Come back to me with any questions you may have. I'll do my best to answer them. For Entropy! For Gradalsh!'

You say, 'I found this broken thing buried with the book. What is it for?'

Afaven says, 'Dash it all! I must have damaged it while I was burying it! I don't know what to do <Player Name>, but you NEED to find someone who can fix that. Surely some cultist or disciple of Gradalsh knows how!'

Find Disciple Avell (Lake Starfall  at 935, -666, -21  • South eastern island) .

You say, 'Hail, Disciple Avell'

Disciple Avell glances at you. 'Yo!'

You say, 'What are you doing here exactly... don't you have Entropy to spread?'

Disciple Avell shrugs. 'Naw, not today.'

You say, 'Not tod- Entropy is NOT a part time job!'

Disciple Avell says, 'Chill man! It's my day off. Dalaya will be here to send into oblivion tommorow.'

You say, 'I have come across this vessel and believe you can help. Can you?'

Disciple Avell says, 'Ya probably.'

You say, 'Well WILL you?'

Disciple Avell says, 'Sure. For a price.

You say, 'And this price is?'

Disciple Avell says, 'Three hundred platinum coins.'

You say, 'Outrageous!'

Disciple Avell shrugs.

You say, 'Very well.'

Disciple Avell grabs your coins and the vessel. 'Ok... just a moment here... There we are! Simple'

You lose 300 platinum coins.

You receive Rune Etched Vessel of Gradalsh from Disciple Avell.

You say, 'I hope you choke.'

Disciple Avell says, 'Phew, a deadly treant finding me on this island and ripping my soul out is more likely! Now leave me alone. I'll properly serve Gradalsh tomorrow.'

Read A Cultists Scribings for hints on what to collect to combine in Rune Etched Vessel of Gradalsh to create Chaotic Suspension:

• Diseased Treant Leaves x2
• Vial of Vilewater
• Sightless Eye

Next, you will have to acquire a specific disease, then kill a citizen in a specific city to loot their heart.

Heart of a Plagued Elf

Acquire Rotting Plague from a plaguewind gnoll (Eastern Badlands  at 1521, -642  •) .

Kill a Kelethin citizen (Greater Faydark  • Kelethin) .

Loot Heart of a Plagued Elf.

Heart of a Plagued Human

Acquire Spore Fever from a greenmoss seeder (Heartland Undercaverns  • Zone-in Caverns) .

Kill a newport citizen (Northern Newport  • Various Locations) .

a Newport citizen coughs and sputters as he catches a plague from <Player Name>, !

Loot Heart of a Plagued Human.

Heart of a Plagued Dwarf

Acquire Wetlung from a greenmoss seeder (Heartland Undercaverns  • Zone-in Caverns) .

Kill an underhill citizen (Underhill  •) .

a newport citizen coughs and sputters as he catches a plague from <Player Name>!

Loot Heart of a Plagued Dwarf.
