Find Guard Master Ulik (Sadri Malath at 393, -271 • Warrior guild) .
You say, 'Hail, Guard Master Ulik'
Guard Master Ulik says, 'Hello there, young Paladin. My name is Guard Master Ulik, and I am in charge of the Sadri Malath Guard. The Guard trains young warriors, and employs Taldorian Warriors and Paladins in protecting our new home here. Have you come to join the cause?'
You say, 'What cause?'
Guard Master Ulik says, 'The cause of Malath and the Taldorian, young one. The destruction of the Lands of Magic forced us to move as a race to this small island. We came and settled here in peace, yet the Vulfwere were not happy with new neighbors. They are a viscious and violent race, unfit for living near a civilized people. We must beat them back from our gates, so we may wait for Malath's return. That is what the Guard was formed to do - protect Sadri Malath from the Vulfwere and any other threats that may show themselves.'
You say, 'I will join the cause.'
Guard Master Ulik says, 'Good, good. I am the right Taldorian to have come to. The most pressing concern for the city right now is the Vulfwere incursion. They are unwilling to let us settle in this place in peace, so we must bring the battle to them in order to protect the youngest of our race. Our resources are not what they used to be, though, as our exodus and resettling has cost us dearly. If you are up to proving yourself, I would see you outfitted and honored as a full Guard of Sadri Malath.'
You say, 'How do I prove myself?'
Guard Master Ulik says, 'You take the fight to the enemy, is how you prove yourself. Here, take this Talisman. It is of Ysthar make, but despite its evil origins we are able to use them to help us protect our home. The magic in the Talisman will mark everything you slay while wearing it. This allows us to make things very direct - there is no collecting ears or heads. Instead, you can prove yourself by seeking and eliminating the enemies of our homeland. Return to me when you feel the amulet shimmer, and we will begin to equip you as a true Guardian of Malath. Good luck, <Player Name>.'
